Great location, nice view over the valley. Very quiet setting, making for a restful stay. Rooms were very clean and well provided. Breakfast was more than ample.

Easy check-in, staff are easily contactable. If you are arriving after front desk hours, just give them a call. Easily instructions will be given. Room is spacious. TV has the lodge's netflix account, so you may want to check in early :)) Only concern is door lock is one-way, recommend owner to consider better locks since right outside of the room door is the car park.

The front desk lady was very nice. We had two rooms to choose from. There is a farm around, with goats, sheep, cows, ostriches, and a pig. One star is given to the pig, who was super friendly and purred as soon as we met. It is a good choice for those who want to see the caves but don't want to drive too far. The only drawback is that there are all kinds of insects in the room. You can only pretend to be blind as there are too many to kill.

The sanitation of the hotel is very general, and the cups used by the guests have not been washed. At that time, there was no public toilet and shower room at the time of booking, and there was a feeling of being cheated.

The disadvantage is that the sound insulation is not good. We live on the first floor, but we can hear clearly when walking on the second floor. It is noisy, so just wear earplugs. It was spoken by an old couple who were very enthusiastic and introduced the surroundings of the hotel. The house we went to on November had only heating. We thought it would be cold, but in fact the heating worked very well and it became very warm after being turned on for a while. It's very close to the Glowworm Cave, more than 20 minutes' walk and a quick drive. Waitomo has its own parking lot, which is very convenient.

Driving from Auckland is a bit far away, and walking on the mountain road at night is still a bit biased. The advantage is that it is very close to the firefly wormhole. At night, it is full of surprises. The hotel looked inconspicuous at night, small, but it was very warm during the day, the flowers were crowded, clean and tidy, and the owner was very amiable. The only dissatisfaction was that the book was rushed at that time, and I booked the No. 5 room with the preferential price at the front. When I saw it, I clearly wrote more than 500. When I paid, I showed that I wanted a credit card guarantee, and I agreed. However, I later found that I had to pay 140 New Zealand, which was more than 650, and the credit card deposit was not returned for a long time. It was very depressed. Room 5 is in the middle, the privacy is relatively poor, and it is the smallest. There are two small single beds in the room, plus a bathroom. I thought it was because of the special reason for the special price. Be careful.

Motel plus RV camp, there is a restaurant next to it, with a laundry room, good location, very close to Waitomo, suitable for people who go to the Glowworm Caves, although there is no air conditioning, it is not hot at all in summer

The place looks a bit rundown but overall the stay is comfortable and quiet.

Very remote, but it is worth trying. Living here will have a rare experience. Let’s get a bit more dramatic. You can see fluorescent insects 🐛 (👀) without spending money.
