Hotel Dreams Araucania

It was the 2nd time we stayed here while visiting family in Temuco. We spent 7 nights so I believe it is enough time to make a review based on our experience. The hotel is great, good rooms, excellent breakfast, nice pool and spa area. Great location within walkable distance to the mall, restaurants and bar along Avenida Alemania. We dine at the IN restaurant and it was very good and convenient. I cut 1 star off my review because: (1) the card reader inside elevators where you switch your room key just dont work at all. (2) the spa staff does not enforce pool rules. We saw people eating there, people without swiming caps, etc. (3) Parking: from Dic 24 parking is only free the first night. Then they just offer a 50% discount. They do not inform this change in the website or reservation emails. Even though is not that expensive, it requires stoping at the front desk to get your ticket stamped every time you want to take the car out. The hotel should charge upfront this as an option and ease the complete process for travellers. (4) Wifi in the 6 floor was next to nothing. I believe these are easy fixes, so I expect Management can take action and improve these.

Bad experience, very bad attention. The INN restaurant makes charges that do not correspond to consumption and does not provide clear information to its customers. You have to check the receipts before paying and never charge to the room because then they charge more than what is appropriate. The buffets are always the same, the same options always and they repeat what is left over at dinner.

We chose this hotel because Temuco was our first stop on our trip to the South of Chile. The hotel keeps the good things, very clean, large rooms, friendly staff, good breakfast. Highly recommended. We went with our kids, so, connectiing rooms are great !
