Check-in after 15:00. The staff are very friendly, including those who speak English at a sufficient level so that you can understand each other without a translator. The room is spacious, heated/cooled by air conditioning. There is also a kotatsu, under which it is very comfortable to sit, a tea set, including a kettle. Yukata and khvori are very beautiful and comfortable. In the room there is also a memo for foreigners on the correct visit to the onsen (be sure to read it, this is important). There are only two onsen - one large with a view of the river (there are curtains) and one smaller without windows. The water is moderately hot, not scalding. As a dinner, kaiseki was provided with a change of dishes - it was very tasty and VERY much (honestly, we could not eat everything, since we usually eat much less, for which we apologize to the staff)

The service from the staff was great. I was very satisfied with the cold tea, snacks, cold water before bed, food, and cleanliness of the room. However, I was concerned about the fact that I didn't know who had used my slippers, the group next door was so noisy that they even blew a conch horn during meals, the stairs were steep, and the bathroom sink was small.

We were served a delicious meal incorporating Tenkawa's specialties.
It was my first time to have a kotatsu in my room, and it was very relaxing. Furthermore, we were provided with a hot water bottle at the foot of our futon, and it was a very well-maintained accommodation.

This place was gorgeous. First thing first, I left the same day from Tokyo and managed to break my phone on my way there so I got lost and missed the last bus from the nearest town. I was able to call the Ryokan personnel and one of the employees (whose name I forgot) drove to there around 11pm and picked me up ♥ That in itself was incredibly sweet. The only (and when I say ''only''!!!) thing that was a bit...meh...Is that during my stay, the town was empty. Like, 3-4 people, I was so confused. But the town is incredibly beautiful, the hikes in the surrounding area are amazing, I could have spent hours laying on the ground in the temple area to listen to the sounds of water...The food included in my reservation was...to die for. Honestly, what I ate there (the dinner was my favorite) was the best food I ate in my life. The room I stayed in was so clean and stunning, the yukata was comfortable and the tea was delicious! The staff there was so friendly, I forgot their names but I would like to go back there next time I visit Japan for sure :) Next time though I will make sure to come back when there are more people :) So I can make more memories of this great place!

This was my first time at Dorogawa Onsen, and the retro atmosphere was great. The food was also great, and I could see the river from my room and feel the sound of the flowing river and nature. The bath was also great, but the stairs are steep so you have to be careful. However, maybe because it's a wooden inn, the people in the rooms below could be heard talking until late at night, which was disappointing. Still, it was a good experience and I'd like to stay here again if I have the chance.
