We stayed here for the weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary, slightly disappointed with the room we choose, very compact with a very small bathroom, over priced for what it was with maintenance required in bathroom. We only had breakfast (evening meal available for non guests) which had a good selection. I like a cooked breakfast and it was superb The staff were all very friendly, in particular Charlie, a lovely young lady who went to the local shop to get bananas for my wife and gave us an anniversary card on leaving. The Anchor has so much potential but not being utilised ie whilst we were there people came in for breakfast but were turned away as breakfast was for guests only

Upon arrival, there is no clear sign for where to check in, so we had to go into the restaurant. We were shown up to our room by a member of staff who was chatty and friendly. When we entered our room (twin - room 6), we were warned that there had been some complaints recently about noise from the outside camera that shows a live feed of the beach, which we were told not to worry about as it should only happen every 30 minutes or so. Well, the camera doesn’t move every 30 minutes, it moves every 2 minutes and sounds like a mobile phone vibrating on a glass table, so quite an annoying sound, every 2 minutes. To say this disturbed my sleep is an understatement, I maybe got a few hours and it ruined my stay. I am a light sleeper so came prepared with decent ear plugs but they didn’t make much difference as the noise vibrates through the wall. The camera was still moving at 1am and at this point I had to stop looking at the time as I was getting so frustrated. The curtains are also very thin so an eye mask is a must. The room becomes very light as soon as the sun rises. We ordered pizzas from the restaurant, but when it got a bit chilly and we needed to go inside the waiter allowed us to go back to our room as there were no tables left inside, our pizzas were then brought up to us in our room. I’d recommend booking a table if you want to eat in the restaurant. The breakfast situation was a bit lack lustre, with a minimal amount of continental and no menu available. I did not eat but had a cup of tea. In general, the guesthouse was quiet, clean and had friendly staff. The location is perfect with beautiful views and the restaurant is a bonus. But I can’t recommend staying in Room 6 as there was no warning about this noise on booking or on the website and if we’d known about it we would have requested a different room or stayed elsewhere. We paid £135 for 1 night in this room, if they’re going to keep charging that price, or anywhere near that, then the camera needs to be moved so that they can provide a comfortable stay with a good nights sleep

This was our fourth visit to Anchor House - we keep coming back because it really is in the perfect location, with the beautiful Broad Haven beach just across the road. We were a little apprehensive after learning that the B&B has changed owners recently (and after reading some of the recent reviews on here), but there was no need to worry - everything was as good as ever, if not better. For example, increased breakfast options available this year (I especially appreciated the availability of non-dairy milk). We can't wait to return in 2025!

Having travelled from the other side of the country, it was pleasing to find that the room was clean, bright and airy looking out to sea (as seen in the photo). Fresh milk was offered on arrival to have with the tea or coffee. The room was very comfortable with plenty of room and a comfortable seat to relax in should you wish to read or watch television. The room is ideal for the single traveller with the only down side being next to the front door which other guests tended to slam at times but that is not the fault of the guest house. Maybe a different hinge should be considered that is slow closing and the door cannot be banged. Having said that, the guest house was a perfect base for travelling around the area.

Room was clean, comfortable and just what I needed after a long day driving and a trip to Skomer island. Staff were extremely friendly and made me feel welcome as a solo traveller. The restaurant was great, food amazing and again staff made me feel welcome. Being able to eat looking out on the sea was fantastic. Only downside was other people staying there weren't so mindful of others and slammed doors but that's not the fault of the staff or property.

Broadhaven is bucket and spade country and the Anchor Inn goes with the trend, a cheerful and unpretentious place of the traditional seaside variety. Despite having booked six months in advance, we were allocated a fairly ghastly ground-floor room at the back of the house with a view of the car park and trash cans, while on the other side of the house was a mile of sand and the sea; beware! The restaurant features an Italian touch, a little bizarrely perhaps, but the food is good and value for money, while service on our visit (a very busy day) was determinedly friendly but little short of chaotic. For an eating alternative, Littlehaven is a short walk away, via the beach at low tide, and offers two or three dining options.

Arrived early and parked in a somewhat scruffy car park and went to lunch in the pizza restaurant below. Ordered a pizza, coke and half a lager. Drinks arrived some time later and it appeared to be a pint of lager so I asked if it was a half? The waitress did not even reply but just took the coke away and did not return to resolve this issue. Good check-in. Offered fresh milk and shown to our room. Bare light bulb. Uncomfortable, poor quality mattress. Dirty uncomfortable chairs. Dirty shower curtain. Small shower. No Ch. 1-5 or freeview on TV despite 3 members of staff trying to sort the matter out. They were not prepared for breakfast when we came down at 8 (breakfast served 8-9). Drinks took 20 minutes and the cooked breakfast took an hour to arrive (the cook left the building after service had started to go to the local shop to purchase the baked beans). Overall, a high price for a very basic offering, the only good thing being the view.

Our tour company set us up here for 2 nights as we hiked the coast path. I’m older and need at least a few hours of sleep before trekking 10 miles, but was not going to get it at this place. When we arrived I questioned having public toilets for their restaurant on both sides of our room and the employee said not to worry since nobody uses these. Wrong. They was non stop door slamming and bathroom noises right by my bed til 11:00 pm. Additionally, the parking lot surrounds this room. More door slamming, etc. The bathroom was moldy, the shower curtain wasn’t long enough so the water just went on the floor, there was mold going up the corner wall beside the bed. The entire property just needs a good cleaning! I think I’m more ticked at the tour company for not previewing this place than at the employee who fibbed about nobody using the bathrooms by room 3.

Ignore older reviews. As this place is currently being run it’s awful. Room cleaning and restocking didn’t happen every day. The breakfast cook didn’t turn up every day either. The owner said that we would have to have ‘continental’ breakfast but that wasn’t well stocked. The walls are thin and we could clearly hear talking from downstairs. Wifi signal was poor and erratic. As the only tv channels were wifi based, we didn’t always have tv either. Its generally tatty, and mouldy in the tiny bathroom. Cheapest toilet roll ever. All this for £165 per night. We’re certainly never going back.
