We have recently returned from an 11 night stay at Villa Kaya. We stayed in Beach Glass a beautifully appointed villa style suite with amazing panoramic views of Morne Rouge beach, the bay and the hills beyond. The villa itself, the communal areas, gardens and grounds are all meticulously maintained. We looked forward to breakfast each morning (prepared by Agatha), it was Caribbean style with a combination of fresh fruit, yogurt, cold meat, smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, omelette, homemade bread and pastries. There is an airconditioned breakfast room, or as we preferred to do, you can eat outside under a large, covered dining terrace. All the staff were so helpful and genuinely pleased to have us as their guests. Mia (the manager) ensured that we had everything that we needed and checked in with us every morning to see if we needed assistance with anything at all. She organised taxis, restaurant bookings and car hire. She gave us lots of information about where to eat and places to visit. Villa Kaya is set into a hillside and as such has steps on different levels, which was not a problem for us but may need extra consideration if you have limited mobility. We loved the setting/location of Villa Kaya which was a short walk to Morne Rouge beach and a 15 minute stroll to Grand Anse beach. This meant that nearby restaurants or those on the beach could easily be reached on foot. We will definitely return and have no hesitation in recommending it to the more independent traveller who wants to experience sensibly priced, high quality, small scale, individual accommodation with attentive staff in a beautiful location.
