Silversands Grenada

Wow, I absolutely loved my stay at the silversands ! The concierge was so attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The location was fantastic - you could easily walk to other restaurants along the beach, and I felt really secure. Oh, and by the way, the hotel picks you up from the airport in such a stylish way! Don't miss out on the expedited airport service either! Loved that the villas are structured together but still had so mich privacy also loved breakfast ! The place is nice !

This is an outstanding property! Rooms very comfortable, clean, and well furnished. Restaurant has good food and a good bartender. Of course the pool…goes on forever! Clean grounds, fantastic staff…and airport transfers in a Tesla! Well worth it.

Silversands Grand Anse is a beautiful property which provides guests a luxurious and calm experience. It is located in a very busy, and at times noisy, neighborhood of Grand Anse, and yet once you are in the hotel property itself, you feel as if you are truly somewhere special. The owner has executed a beautiful vision as seen in the hotel's architecture, layout, and artwork collection. Each and every employee is courteous, friendly, and greets everyone with a smile. For the most part the Front Office staff was responsive, but always professional and pleasant. The Hotel Manager, Laurence Georget, has her finger on the pulse of everything going on at the hotel, and she interacts with guests on a very personal level. Ownership is very fortunate to have Mme. Georget overseeing Silversands Grenada. Regarding Food & Beverage, the service at The Grenadian Grill and The Beach Lounge can be terribly slow. It was frustrating that each day we ate lunch there, that they were repeatedly out of some items listed on their menu. It would be a nice addition if they offered a cold soup on their menu. Oddly enough, they currently have gazpacho listed on their menus, but it was never available and we were told they are permanently removing it from their menus. Our Breakfast Room food and service experience was top notch, as was our Thai-fusion dinner at Asiatique. We want to reiterate how wonderful the dining rooms' staff and beach staff were during our stay. Housekeeping does a top notch job at keeping the public spaces clean, however our experience was that there is inconsistency in guest room cleanliness and presentation. Our sense is that more hands on training and paying more attention to detail would provide a consistent guest room experience. The Spa is beautifully designed, and our treatments were therapeutic, relaxing, and enjoyable. As with the rest of the hotel, we found that the staff at the Spa was wonderful. As for the 24-hour Fitness Center, it is small, but filled with lots of quality equipment. We wish to express our gratitude to all the staff at The Silversands Grand Anse for making our vacation so wonderful.

My stay at Silversands was a mixed experience. It has the foundation of a 5 star resort but it fell short in some key areas, and if not for the issues I encountered I would be at 5 stars as well. First the good. The grounds and beach area are beautiful, clean and modern. The room exceeded my expectations and was nearly perfect. The beach attendants and staff at the Asian restaurant were friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately we had some issues. There was an electronic security panel right outside our room and one evening it started beeping very loudly. I called the front desk and they said they were working on it. It was so loud that it ruined our night and prevented us from being able to sleep, which in turn soured the next day. In the morning I asked again and was told it would be fixed that night. It was finally fixed around midnight that day. This essentially ruined one day of our experience. I was not surprised they had to call an engineer outside the hotel staff to fix but I was very surprised the woman at the front desk didn't seem to care that it happened. I was not offered a free night or anything else to make up for the day. In fact I didn't even get an apology from management. Literally any gesture of acknowledgement or concern would have bumped this to 4 stars. I've stayed in many resorts of this level and usually management deals with issues in a much better way. I fully explained the issue and lack of sleep but I didn't want to have to argue for anything. The food and service at the Asian restaurant were great. We experienced the opposite at the other lunch restaurant. We had asked before we booked if they could accommodate a vegan diet and they were very encouraging that they could and there were items on the menu already that worked. When we actually went to eat though the vegan item was not available even though it was still on the menu. The uninterested waitress said there was nothing to replace it but she gave us a very short list of options. We ended up getting the salad and a side of fries. Both were tiny and not good. The salad tasted undressed and was mostly lettuce. This took a really long time and they charged $85 USD. We didn't even get drinks. We immediately cancelled our dinner reservation after that so I can't speak for that menu. The beach was nice but we were unable to get a spot the first day as there were no chairs left. We were told when we first got in that the beach never fills up. After that first day we went early to grab a spot. It would have been nicer if there was a bar at the beach but the awesome beach staff brought drinks to our chairs. If you don't have problems this can be a 5 star experience easily but if you run into issues be prepared for them not to care.

A friend and I booked a rather last minute trip to Grenada and really loved Silversands Grenada. We loved the low-rise, modern, airy, bright aesthetic; the spacious and well-appointed rooms with lots of storage space; the longest infinity pool we had ever seen; the numerous outdoor spaces with canopies to ward off alternating showers and sunshine; the friendly staff, especially the folks in the dining room at breakfast and the guys who helped us with chairs and umbrellas at the beach; the beautiful spa; the free yoga classes; and its location on Grand Anse Beach near other hotels, bars, and restaraunts. A couple of areas for improvement/small complaints worth noting: we were in a garden view room behind some of the villas, which was perfectly private and lovely, but on numerous occasions, there were dogs barking/fighting beginning at @ 5:30 AM and continuing on and off through the day, as well as people yelling/arguing. I don't think this was happening at the hotel, but probably at a nearby property/area, but it was a bit annoying and otherwise shattered the serenity (and I have seen some other reviewers comment on it). The food onsite was decent, but not amazing--we did have one day where I had to order three different drinks because they were out of one ingredient or the other, but not a big deal. I don't think our A/C worked properly--our room was freezing and although we kept continuing to try and adjust, the thermostat never budged and although we notified the front desk about it, no one ever came to look at it or fix it. Finally, I am a sucker for turn-down service at hotels of this caliber and this was kind of lacking--I think they did come to close our blinds, they didn't do anything else or tidy up again or leave new towels or do/leave any other turn-down amenity. I write the negatives in the spirit of honesty and transparency, but overall, I loved our stay here and just want the place to do well and continue to get better. I would definitely recommend and would definitely return. Some recommendations: For dinner, Dexter's. For lunch or dinner, 61West down the beach. We did the Seven Sisters Waterfall hike booked through the hotel. Every other Wednesda apparently is cruise ship day and the beach gets really, really crowded. Look for the rainbows, which appeared nearly every day. : )

This is an exceptional hotel. Probably the best rooms in any beachside hotel anywhere in the world. It's 100 metre pool and a stunning beach adds much. The staff are superb, kind and attentive and always friendly. The downside as others have mentioned, is the mediocre food offerings. Breakfasts were good (the egg station is always on its game) but the Grenadian is overpriced and very ordinary (no real evidence it is a grill). The Asian offering was better but served in the breakfast area lacked any feeling of being Asian. Our other comment is about the lack of any bar. There is a strange room off the lobby that seems to open erratically but why no walk up beach bar, there's room for one? We snuck round to 61 West for sun-downers! The new manager will we hope get Silversands up to genuine 5 stars and we will return!!
