Chateau de Hodbomont

A nice old manor house turned small Hotel. Take a brief tour of the ground floor. The restoration work is really impressive. We were the only guests the night we stayed. Originally, we were in a quaint upper floor room, but the heating needed to be bled so we were relocated down to the “Tower Room”. This room was truly luxurious. It had a huge bathroom and great views of the surrounding property. Following dinner in the village we returned to the Chateau and the host built a fire in the fireplace of one of the drawing rooms so we could play cards. They set up classical music with a tablet and blue tooth speakers for a very pleasant setting. My wife and I stayed up and talked, visited with the house dog, and generally just enjoyed the atmosphere the house supplied. The host does not speak English, but his associate does, and everything was great. The breakfast in the morning was unbelievable. They really went over and above to present a glorious selection of breads, meat, cheese, fresh fruit, eggs, yoghurt, coffee…WOW. We would really love to go back in better weather and have the chance to just stroll through the woods and chill out. Love the décor—there are little surprises (like glass dragons) everywhere. They have WiFi but don’t look for a TV in your room. You won't miss it. Love it! One of the websites say they do carriage rides but those discontinued a while ago.
