As a family (3 x adults and 3 children under 3) we all really enjoyed our early evening meal at The Station Hotel. Menu is varied and interesting and we adults all chose the different styles of macaroni, very tasty! Children's meals fresh and healthy. The dining area (at the rear of the bar, although there is a more formal restaurant area) is nicely decorated in calm tones and lent itself well to larger tables. Staff were helpful, attentive and well presented. Looking forward to returning soon!

Stayed at the Station hotel for two nights as part of an organised coach trip. We stayed in the main building. Our room was quite small and dated although very clean. The bar prices were expensive. The evening meal was nice but the breakfast was average. The staff were OK.

This is a lovely, old hotel in an historic building in central Thurso. It was quiet and comfortable and quite walkable to shops and restaurants in town. I had a great sleep and my room had a charming view. I did not eat at the hotel. After sitting in the dining room at dinner time and being passed by several times I finally inquired to find out that they had a private party and were unable to provide me with dinner. Other than that, it was a perfect stay.

I stayed for 2 nights mid week. After a friendly welcome I was allocated an apartment. The apartment was in a separate building 2 doors down from the hotel entrance. Simple one bedroom set up. Full kitchen, sitting area with TV, long hall to bathroom and bedroom. Pine furniture in the bedroom provided plenty storage. Ironing board, iron and hoover in the large wardrobe, if required. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast offered cereal, fruit, fruit juice and yogurt from buffet and cooked options. Well cooked and served by friendly attentive staff. avoid 730 for breakfast if possible as this is the usual time the bus tour travellers generally have breakfast.

Despite having lived in Caithness for more than 18 years, this was our first visit to their restaurant as we had been given a gift of vouchers. We had a friendly welcome. The menu was good with a lot of choices including vegetarian. We had a nice cider & a great red wine. Despite both our first choices of mains being unavailable as they had run out, we both had a great main. I had torn chicken with haggis pie which I really enjoyed. My wife had a vegetarian curry which she loved. We both had the cheesecake which was wonderful. The price including drinks & tip was less than £80 which was great value. Certainly worth more visits.

We stayed in a room in the coach house part of the hotel. The room was massive and really clean and comfortable with a great en suite. One of the best rooms we have stayed in since we left Cornwall over a month and a half ago. Breakfast was also one of the best we have had. The staff were brilliant too Couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Would definitely return. Thank You 😊

Great location for both the station (obviously!) and the town. Room was very clean and bath + shower. Staff very welcoming. Breakfast is a choice of continental or Scottish. Did not eat there but had a couple of drinks in the bar which has big comfy sofas.

Stayed here for two nights on our coach tour of Scotland. Stayed in a large room in the courtyard which was OK. Evening meal was good with a good breakfast as well. Staff were very friendly with us. Rooms could probably do with updating.

Arrived 6pm as part of a coach party of 23. My room as allocated was 33 in the back courtyard, On entry it was cold and not welcoming, it was raining and I had to drag my case outside and some 50 yards to the rear. I returned to the bar area and witnessed the early part of evening service. Our party had been booked into the restaurant. The evening meal was very good, served on hot plates, not always done. The Breakfast was one of the best breakfasts I have had in the last two years, the quality of the produce was exceptional. I witnessed many aspects of this hotel and would suggest that when guests arrive they should at least enter a warm room. There are some brilliant touches with pictures and maps but please make the guests first impression warm and welcoming. This is hospitality even as ar North as you are.
