Treschers Schwarzwald Hotel

Great location. BUT if you are American prepare to be unhappy. The rooms need refreshing (bathrooms are nice however). The staff makes it clear Americans are unwelcomed. Every request is met with an initial no then a lecture about "we do it this way" and only then perhaps a yes. E.g. can i get another pillow. This is NOT service and the hotel staff would greatly benefit from time spent at a hotel school. Such pontential lost to what Americans will take as rudeness.

Treschers is a lovely lakeside holiday hotel. We stayed for five nights and enjoyed our time here. The lake view room is large and very comfortable with a peaceful ambience. There is a good efficient bathroom too. The breakfast buffet is very tasty with good coffee and choice of food. We did not use the restaurant in the evening as it only has a four course menu. We preferred to eat more lightly at the nice local restaurants mentioned by the hotel’s website. They are very close to the hotel and good. There is a sun deck and pool and we enjoyed perfect sunny weather for four days. Everyone working in the hotel are friendly and welcoming. The hotel is quite expensive. However, it is good value with the excellent location, service and accommodation.

Our room was the lowest grade that had a balcony and lake view but was still spacious and very comfortable. The views were just lovely, and although the hotel is in the middle of the town we weren’t disturbed by noise at all. Breakfast had a comprehensive selection of both hot and cold food. There appeared to be three restaurants for meals in the evening but when we asked to see the menus, we were shown the same one every time. Strange.

Mixed experience - the Location is lovely, the view of the room towards the lake as well. The main receptionist was not even greeting me on my arrival - the younger one was way nicer. The room in the 3rd floor was very hot and without AC, when asking for a fan at the reception I did not get one. At dinner, where at first I had to justify that I had the right to be seated (as I had booked the expensive add-on offer which was the 3-course dinner) I complained again about the hot room. I think I was attended by the owner because this time I got the fan to my room immediately. The dinner (fish) was bland on the first night with a rude and inattentive server. I contemplated to skip the dinner on the second night, although I had paid for it. Finally I went there and this time it was much better - the food (lamb racks) was tasty and the server much better than the previous one. It is a pity that not all personnel seems to welcome guests and are friendly. As a owner I would look into this as there have been some other complaints as well.

Excellent property. Courteous Helpful Staff. Mr Samy sent Car to Rail st. for pick up. We had Superior Room Lake Facing with Balcony& Terrace. All the Luxurious amenities in Room. Michel helped us and guided well. Our Veg Food was sumptuous

We stayed for two nights for our anniversary and loved every minute. Perfect views and location on the lake. Our lake view room was renovated and spacious. The sauna and pool area was a huge surprise, the online reviews and photos don’t do justice. It’s huge and modern, a perfect way to relax. The infinity pool that looks over the lake is wonderful with good jets as well. We booked the half board and loved the dinner foods, very authentic German and a nice surprise each evening. Our favorite part is that we were the only Americans there, it was a truly authentic German excursion.
