Unsure how this hotel gets good reviews. I'm sure that it was once a fine hotel but now it feels very old, tired and distinctly dingy (very dark corridors & rooms). Our room was dark, had an uncomfortable bed and a bathroom with a hand shower over the bath without even a curtain. It was also very noisy, both from people in a nearby cafe/bar & from the bathroom of the room above. Breakfast was OK but fairly limited. The location, very near the centre of Todi, was the only positive of our stay. Personally, I would say this is now a 2 star hotel at best.

We stayed here as part of an Insight Vacations 'Country Roads of Italy' tour. Lovely historic building! Great buffet breakfast. I had a magical view of Umbria from my window. I am aware that at least one couple had plumbing issues in their room, which were reported. My experience was excellent!

Nice simple hotel right in the middle of Todi with parking available a 5 minute walk away. Friendly and helpful staff. We were really happy with it.

We stayed one night at this hotel with a tour group. It is located in the heart of Todi and it was an easy walk to see everything in this charming town. The hotel itself has an old world charm and great views of the countryside. Our room was somewhat run down, however, and had a tiny, hard to use shower. The mattress was uncomfortable and the room dark. The views from our 2 large windows were fantastic with beautiful sunsets/sunrises. We must have had an "average room" because many in our group raved about their awesome rooms, while others said theirs were small and dark. Breakfast was good with fresh fruit, pastries, cereals, bacon, eggs, etc. This hotel just needs some updating and deep cleaning of some of the bed skirts, etc. but it is a great location and quite charming.

We loved it here. Parking is available- though not on site; The hotel is within the walls and it allows for easy walking to all sites and being able to get a real feel for Todi. This is a great town for an evening meal and gelato in the town square. You’ll get Italy at its best with very limited tourists. The hotel has a cute little restaurant with a terrace to sit on too. The food was wonderful and had options for children and vegetarians!

Nice location but the rooms are in desperate need of a refresh. The hallways are dark and dingy. Bathrooms are very odd. I’m sure it’s due to the age of the building but I’m very petite and I had difficulty using the shower. Also the toilet was directly opposite of the bidet and were only two to three inches apart. The mattress and pillows were very thin but somehow lumpy. Breakfast was adequate but nothing special. I can say that the staff was very nice. All in all, the location was the best part of this hotel.

Super location , super staff , very clean and welcoming, I would normally give a five star for this , my only complaint is car parking, because it’s all one way systems it’s quite a long drive to get there , and the old road up to garage is not for big cars, and the walk back to hotel is quite steep Also the shower in my room was not for large framed people like myself . To sum up then if your not big framed and have a normal sized car get booked up by their excellent staff

Outstanding customer service is just one of the many features found at the historical Hotel Fonte Cesia located in Todi, a medieval hill town in Umbria. Nunzia and Anna Frustagatti manage this little four-star gem located just steps away from the Piazza del Popolo where alfresco dining and gelato are to be found. Our large room had lots of storage, a mini fridge, TV, fresh bed linens, and a large terrace overlooking the countryside. A buffet breakfast was included with outside seating available. The customer service at this hotel goes beyond what is expected. From arranging transportation to providing restaurant options, and sightseeing opportunities both Nunzia and Anna made sure that our visit was one of comfort and discovery, in other words a delightful experience. I highly recommend the Hotel Fonte Cesia and only wish we could have had more time to explore more of Todi’s splendor.
