Agnes Hotel Tokushima

Very central location near the train station, but still quiet. Very friendly, competent staff, large rooms!, very clean. A small, fine hotel. The breakfast - excellent, large selection, western and Japanese, stylish ambience - is not offered directly in the Hotel Agnes but in the nearby "mother house" about 100 m away. The onsen is also not directly in the Agnes but in the associated hotel directly opposite the Agnes, about 15 m across the street, train station, shops, bus station about 250 m away. For me, an optimal hotel in terms of price / performance. I felt very comfortable there and would stay there again at any time.

The environment is good, not to mention the service, but the breakfast is too simple and almost unchanged!

This hotel is about a 3-minute walk from Tokushima Station (there is a convenience store nearby as well). The hotel is not very new but is quite clean. I went to the front desk to check in...the front desk staff were generally very friendly. There was a nice sweets shop and restaurant on the first floor. You use a key to enter the room. The room was very spacious and the bathroom and toilet were normal, with normal amenities and other facilities in the room as well. (There is no security box and slippers are disposable.) The bed was wide, the nightwear was a robe and the pillow was generally good. To get to the large public bath, I had to go to a group hotel across the street. For breakfast, I had to walk just a minute away, so it was an inconvenient hotel.

It is within walking distance from the station. The room was spacious enough to open up a suitcase. There is a Wi-Fi connection point in each room, so it doesn't seem to be crowded. Cakes and other items are sold on the first floor, and there is a restaurant where you can enjoy dinner. The large public bath is at another hotel across the street, and breakfast is at a related hotel just over a minute's walk away. You cannot enter the large public bath without a ticket that is provided in advance. Tickets are collected in front of the bath. It didn't seem like the kind of place where you could enter multiple times a day. Breakfast was a buffet with local dishes, and there were various newspapers available at the venue, which is rare these days. There was no rush, and the atmosphere was nice, allowing you to relax.
