Very beautiful hotel beside the lake. Accessible to nature forest and park. Good breakfast and dinner with very good service. Room is big and new.

The treatment of the staff and the views from the rooms make this place a perfect spot if you are near Aveiro. In summer it must be ideal to spend a few days with the swimming pool and the river almost under the building. In the evenings from the balcony you can see birds fishing.

A gem of a pousada dating from the 1960s. Our stay took me back to those times. An unpretentious hotel with all the comfort needed for a short overnight visit in a charming location. The furnishing of the common areas we found particularly appealing.

It was really a wonderful experience. A superb view over the RIA de Aveiro, the rooms are spacy and confortable. Near the ferry that take you to the road to Aveiro at a nice price. The staff is excellent in all aspects. Thank you for a pleasant stay

We had a Superior Room with view and balcony onto the the Ria de Aveiro lagoon. Whilst the room was generously sized and offering comfortable accommodation the decorative condition was poor and in need of maintenance. This was particularly acute in the bathroom with bare plaster and pealing paint showing through. This was pointed out to hotel management who explained that they were aware and that maintenance was planned at the property in the off-season. We found bar prices very high - much cheaper to go down the road to one of the local beach-side bars. Ditto the restaurant - good, but expensive. The breakfast buffet was very good with a good selection of fresh food provided. Perhaps more of the local Portuguese produces, such as cheese and meats could be provided? Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Really clean and comfortable room. The food was amazing, and the staff was friendly and helpful at all times. Soft sofas to sit and gaze out at the sea. The views were lovely and watching the boats go by was lovely.

I love the stay at Pousada da Ria. One of the more incredible Pousadas of Portugal, it seems our room was just together with the Aveiro's Ria, with an amazing view. The Staff was even best that all the rest, very friendly and kind, it felt like home! The swimming pool just close by the Aveiro's Ria is the best place to relax. Please go yourself and check all of these amazing characteristics that make our stay there incredible.

The Pestana Group has normally a very high standard and excellent hotels. They have an historic background and are managed well. The RIA is not. It urgently needs better management and an investment in the hotel. The restaurant is bad and far below Pestana Group level in cooking and service. The team is friendly but on amateur level. They need training. The hotel has potential. The Team wants to deliver and achieve good results. Pestana Group should invest in upgrading it - if not it damages the brand level of the Group.
