Have known this amazingly situated Costa Brava Hotel for 30 years and what a delight to return for 11 nights recently. It was lovely to see that some of the original Staff were still working there. The Piscina Suites are delightful and so spacious but all accommodation at the Hotel is of the highest standard. All members of Staff make one’s visit so enjoyable with Housekeeping and the Poolside restaurant being exceptional. Highly recommended.

Beautiful hotel, amazing facilities and helpful staff always available. A la carte breakfast was great and we particularly enjoyed casual lunches at the bar. I think most guests don’t realise that is a lunch option. I cannot fault the hotel itself - the only negative effect on our stay was American guests not being respectful of the peaceful surroundings. We witnessed several separate groups, none of whom could control the volume of their conversations or how to behave in a high-end hotel setting.. I guess the hotel cannot do much to stop this, apart from perhaps monitoring the noise levels around the pool area.

We stayed mid June for our anniversary trip. Hotel grounds were spectacular and relaxing. We enjoyed the pool and the low key service. Everything was very calm. Hotels staff was super friendly and helpful with recommendations for restaurants and things to do nearby. Afternoon tea was so nice for an afternoon snack! Food was uniformly good across both the MAs restaurant and breakfast/ pool restaurant. We had a room in the main building in the 2nd floor with an excellent balcony area. Perfect place to sit and relax. Air conditioning was very good in the room. Bathrooms were also very nice and well appointed. I could not figure out the TV but that was ok, so much else to do. Would recommend this hotel and general area for a visit. We loved it.

Stunning location. We have been here numerous of times and the garden is out of a dream. The kitchen could be so much better for this area! Spa is a lot of money for not the best massages etc. They have all the facilities. Sauna, Hamman sauna. ice bath, swimming pool, Gym etc. Lots of staff changes. Attention to detail is important. Maybe the hotel could be open all year around. They have all the international guests.

From the minute we arrived the staff was superb and attentive, and gave excellent recommendations for local dinners. Our suite was very well appointed, with the only concern being the audible church bells ringing round the clock from the neighboring town. Each evening we enjoyed a thoughtful turn-down surprise gift. We used the spa each day and utilized the e-bikes for a visit to Pals, a beautiful and unique village nearby. We were there with another couple and all agreed we would love to return in the future.

We took a boat ride hosted by the hotel. Captain Sergio was wonderful, made us feel safe and indulged. We stopped and snorkeled and enjoyed a lovely snack. It was one of the highlights of our vacation. It was easy to schedule and find the boat as well

Beautiful grounds, wonderful bar, excellent staff at the bar. So far, that's all the good things we've seen. After checking in, we went to the restaurant to book a table for dinner, but we were refused because, according to Marian, everything was busy, his communication was rude and unpleasant, considering that there are so many tables in the restaurant, we doubted. As a result, I had to go to the city to eat. Upon our return, we saw that the floor of the restaurant was free, great :) It's June 22nd. There is no ventilation in the room.

Positives: -Great location, close to the best beaches of the Costa Brava. -Staff were helpful and generally friendly organising activities including horse riding for our child. Negatives: -We we’re not advised in advance that our dog was not allowed in any of the restaurants (including the breakfast room). Not even on the restaurant terrace. We paid €60 per night for the dog. This is incredibly disappointing and unlike most 5 star dog friendly hotels around Europe. The only place the dog is welcome across the whole hotel is on a separate terrace. Asking for breakfast on the terrace was incredibly difficult and they were less than pleased- the lady at the restaurant reception was rude about the request. During a rainy day, this creates problems. Best not be a dog “friendly” hotel if in fact it’s basically not. -The garden suite terrace requires weeding and a proper clean -leaves and paper left on the floor Disappointing that this was not done in advance of our arrival. -The garden suites are noisy. We were woken several times by late arrivals from dinner and cars on the driveway. -On certain days, the noise from the road is evident. -Room service dinner (ordered because of the dog situation), was bland. The pesto pasta could easily pass as store bought. Fries were cold. -Temperature in the gym is a sweltering 26c because of heating.
