This is our fourth year of returning to The Torridon, the scenery is spectacular and the hikes on the properties doorstep are stupendous. There’s kayaking, wild swimming and to match the glory of the great outdoors there’s wonderful locally grown and sourced food served in beautifully designed and newly renovated gorgeous spaces. This family owned property attracts a World Class and global staff who are a delight to engage with and a pleasure to be looked after by. This is hospitality at its finest. Fires are lit, tastes of pine note gin proffered, every detail is taken care of expertly. One chef hails from India, so a really good curry is on the menu too, something to please and surprise everyone. Last night we had the chicken liver parfait, then the super local venison followed by the best whiskey trifle we’ve ever had… and trust me the bar is high on this one! I never remember to photograph wonderful food, it’s too good to dawdle with camera angles. I have taken some shots of the new decor so you can see how absolutely fabulous this place is. We’ve already booked to return again next year.

We had an absolutely amazing honeymoon here, it felt special. Hotel and surroundings are beautiful. But the staff made it, gave us a stunning room upgrade, all staff so friendly and welcoming and knowledgable and couldn’t do enough for us. We were greeted with such warmth and we left the same. Food delicious, cocktails stunning, bedroom - all rooms have a lovely style. Even on a stormy windy hail storm day we had a stunning walk and upon our return to hotel we given hot drinks and our coats and boots put into a drying room, I don’t think we can rave enough about everything including the staff and we would love to come back.

Absolutely lovely hotel with amazing views. The food was exquisite. The staff members are very professional, friendly, knowledgable about the history of the hotel and the area and they make you feel like you are The VIP. The room was astonishing with the beautiful view.

The location is unique, and it is like entering another magical world. The hotel is beautiful and the staff are friendly and extremely professional. I had dinner and breakfast, and both were perfectly cooked. The room was very comfortable with a top quality bed, and when I opened the curtains in the morning I was greeted with Highland cows! The detail is very well done. Every glass, plate, and everything that you touch are of the best quality. The staff are superb, which can not be easy as the hotel really is 'in the middle of nowhere'. A visit should be on every experienced traveller's bucket list, because it is uniquely special.

It was snowing…the journey was touch and go but we made it to be immediately greeted with open arms…luggage taken to our room, car parked for us, leaving us to relax in front of a warm fire with a whiskey! Staff were attentive and charming throughout and we felt very relaxed over our 2 night stay to celebrate my 60th. Landscape was stunning. It’s all about the service and the little details and The Torridon team delivered…yes, it was expensive but it was worth every penny…

The Torridon has been on mine and my wife’s bucket list for a while. We got married last Saturday and planned a tour of the western highlands, stopping at Glencoe, Skye, Torridon and Inverness. From the moment we arrived at the Torridon the magical experience began. We were given a warm welcome from Ross Aitchison and his wonderful staff. From start to finish the staff were so attentive, personable, friendly, down to earth and knowledgeable. Our bedroom was out of this world. The bed was so wide and so comfortable and cosy. The shower was epic. So warm and powerful. The view was stunning. The decor was tasteful and classic. The bedroom was also turned twice a day. I’ve never experienced service like it. The food was so delicious. We did the tasting menu the first night and a less formal meal the following evening at Bo and Muc, the hotels other restaurant. Two different experiences but both were superb. If you’re a whisky connoisseur like myself you’ll be in heaven. They have the best whisky collection I’ve ever seen. I definitely overindulged and I’m so glad I did. They also did a whisky pairing with my tasting menu which I absolutely loved. Breakfast was delicious both days. The hotel and Ben Damph estate has some wonderful trails and if you like the outdoors, you won’t be disappointed. We walked for about 8 miles on the second day. It was an epic walk with stunning views. In summary this is an experience that I will cherish for years. Thank you to the Torridon for making our honeymoon so special. We will definitely be back ❤️

We had a wonderful 2 night stay at The Torridon - it’s the perfect place to get away from it all and really relax. Our room was in the main house - beautifully decorated, great amenities and Bamford toiletries. We ate in all the restaurants - the food was excellent, particular in the 1887 restaurant - the matched food and wine were superb - we went back the second night too! Staff were brilliant - Shane, Steve, Louis and Lily - such warm hospitality and so knowledgeable. Thank you. We did a couple of the walks from the hotel - the Balgy falls trail had stunning scenery. We used Donald for our transfers to and from Inverness station and airport as recommended by the hotel - he was brilliant and very helpful - would thoroughly recommend. We can’t wait to go back.

Issue with fly's coming in to the hotel ruined the first day & night for us. The reception staff told us it was something to do with their composting and it had not happened before. I killed 16 in our room and we experienced them in various locations around the hotel. We felt that they should have closed the bar / restaurant while they with the issue. Making money should not be more important than providing a balance with guest experience and service. We personally found the hotel to be lacking, especially at a Thousand pounds a night, compared to our experiences at various other high end hotels we have stayed at recently. Pros: Great location with lovely walks, nice open fires in the downstairs areas, large clean room with great view, nice enough breakfast. Impressive selection of Whisky brands in the bar. A small and quaint countryside hotel that has a sprawl of outbuildings used for further accommodation, bistro/bar etc with friendly staff and nice branded bathroom products. Cons: Apart from the fly problem which they seemed to have under control by our final day. Not enough good staff on hand and too many inexperienced youngsters. We only ate in 1887 once which was partially refunded after complaining about the above problem and we cancelled the second night choosing to eat out. Wine flight did not match our ok meal due to mix up. We had 5 cocktails from two different barmen during our stay, all very poor quality in our opinion. Music speaker from the restaurant below was right under our bed, not enough parking nearby and we had to drag our cases 100 yards to the door on arrival with a buggy driver sailing right past us in his empty cart. The same chocolate teacakes were placed in the room every day, no savory snacks. Bo & Muc Bistro was like a gastro bar and we found the decor to be questionable and the tables too close together. Also, the prices were too high for the dining experience on offer in our opinion. Love the highlands and had been wanting to go to the Torridon since seeing it on TV, but will try somewhere else next time.

We stayed for three nights in October. I think our room was upgraded as we had an incredible view of the loch through a large bay window and the room (number 3) was huge. The fresh flowers/chocolates on arrival were a lovely touch. But the best thing about this hotel is the staff - without exception they were friendly, helpful and confident in dealing with guests. In particular I would single out the lady who welcomed us, the two guys behind the whisky bar, and the young chap from Manchester who served us dinner twice and breakfast once. It was also great that they prepared a vegan/vegetarian tasting menu in their main restaurant for us, and the food was excellent. The hotel itself is a beautiful building in immaculate condition, and the 10k walk through their woods along the side of the loch is a great way to start the day. We absolutely loved our stay and will almost certainly be back regularly.
