I stayed here on the first day of a road trip to Aomori with my family. My first impression was that it was a simple hot spring inn with a mountain hut style located in the great outdoors of Hakkoda. I stayed one night in the Genji Room, a historic room where Setouchi Jakucho once stayed for a long time to write. The bath is a hot spring♨️ with an atmosphere reminiscent of a hot spring resort with an all-wooden floor, but the men's and women's baths are switched depending on the time of day. Above all, the dinner using trout and locally produced ingredients was very delicious, and there was a wide selection of local Aomori sake. Since we were leaving early the next morning, we had a bento for breakfast, which was also delicious, and we were grateful to have it at a roadside station on the way. The building is old and there are many steps inside, so it is by no means comfortable, but the delicious food and simple comfort make it 4 stars⭐️.
