Today I went to the B-Bar Restaurant in the Brandon Hotel for my moms birthday and to have dinner with her. The chef’s special for today was Turkey and Ham which came with Mash and vegetables. My mom said it was lovely but the carrots were abit hard which I understand they have to be. I had Pasta Carbonara and it was really lovely and delicious. Apparently the chef don’t like making it but that wasn’t my problem. I heard the server say that the chef will have uproar about Carbonara . Still wasn’t my problem. All I know is that it was really nice and delicious and I loved it. We had drinks also with our food. My mom bill and my bill was €19 for each of us which was a great price. The staff were lovely and funny and nice. They checked on us after awhile to ask if we were okay for everything which was lovely of them to check. It was lovely and quite and comfortable. There no food allow up at the ️ couches area anymore. Only down near the bar where the fire and tables are. They changed that rule recently I would say because people could eat up there before that rule. The restaurant was lovely and warm and a nice fire was burning. My mom and I loved our dinners and enjoyed our meals there and I would go back again which I will soon again.

Arrived 18/10 Rooms are freezing. Contacted reception they sent up a little oil heater that turns off every few minutes. Mould on walls. Only 2 sockets in the room so you can have heat and tv or phone! Kettle in room you have to put on floor to boil as the socket is low to the ground. I am ment to stay 2 nights but I will be going after 1. This is the worst hotel I have visited and would never come back . It looks lovely on the website but when you get here it doesn’t look anything like the pictures.

Sorry to have to say this was the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in. It was very drab and dreary and needs a complete refurbishment. Our room was on 1st floor and facing onto the road, the noise was terrible during the night. There was a tour booked in and from 6am onwards it was just terrible with door banging and ppl talking loudly, so respect given for ppl still in bed. I had my 2 granddaughter with me on our stay and I rang down 4 purchase apple juice and orange juice was told that sorry we dont do room service, so had to leave the small girls in the room and go down and purchase drinks. Ww went to the leisure centre and what a let down that was. Drap and in need of painting and a good clean. Breakfast was very poor, fruit in a bowl lwft whole and no fruit salad. I asked for melon but no melon, eventhough a lady across from our table had melon. I asked for pancakes and was toldno we dont do pancakes. So it left my granddaughter having nothing only a cup of tea. Cooked food was not good. In all my years of being a Hotel Manager and staying in a lot of hotels over the years this hotel The Brandon was the worst one ever. When dropping off my key at reception on check out, the Receptionist did not ask how our stay was, just said bye now. My 2 granddaughter were so looking forward to staying at The Brandon but left so disappointed with their stay.

Unfortunately what was once a proud lady has suffered over the years from lack of investment and lack of interest I presume from the owners. Now it is perfectly pleasant just dated and tired. The room was large and the bed comfortable but the heat was unreal as we couldn’t open the window much. PROs Location in the heart of Tralee city centre Leisure centre Nice breakfast with good choice Staff were excellent and friendly especially night staff Large room CONs Dated and tired Fell in bath/shower due to no nonslip mat Heat in room due to no air con or proper ventilation, asked reception for fan but none available Overall the staff do the best the can with this once fine dame, unfortunately she is beyond herself by date and in bad need or refurbishment/updating.

We had lunch in the bar and it was excellent. Their fish and chips are delicious also their steak. Service fast and efficient. Great value for money. Much underrated. We eat here a lot and the price is very good value. My friend and I had dinner one night before going to the theatre and the price was the sane ad lunch for delicious food.

Arrived today at 1pm, cold and wet after a motorcycle trip, to be told that check in time is 4pm. 4pm!!? Never known a check in that late in my life. Neither did they appear at all interested in finding us a room any sooner. Also a first in my 56 years on this planet. Gutted that I booked this tired, lived-in and unfriendly hotel! ‍♂️

Visited the Hotel 15th April when we first arrived we were met at reception by a very helpful chatty young man and in the background was an older very surly man who didn't speak at all we paid upfront for 2 nights wish we hadn't paid till we were lea ving Room was small but very clean beds were comfortable but needs updating esp shabby bathroom with step into bath shower.Hotel very cold it was quiet in public areas The food in bar first night was below average bar area cold. The worst part of our experience was breakfast in Ireland we pride ourselves with a high standard. The breakfast I could not rate it was so bad not even cheap and cheerful no tomatoes no mushrooms pan bread cold tea tinned fruit I could go on but I won't leaving the hotel I stood at the desk waiting to make my complaint and I was ignored by the man behind the desk I had to go ahead to catch my train I won't be back
