We came across this exceptional place by coincidence, looking for a place to stay near Castellane (where the choice was limited). It is absolutely worth the small detour and the detour itself is of breathtaking beauty. The château offers a relatively small number of bedrooms, all of individual character and medieval charm, whilst having all the modern creature comforts you would expect. Private, secure parking is perfect for anyone driving the Route Napoléon with a classic car. I'm so impressed by the owners who have managed to make such a delightful place of what would otherwise be an austere, medieval building. And now I'll get to the best bit, the restaurant. We had an exquisite meal, the chef's got real talent. I had four pieces of tuna all prepared in different ways, accompanied by different declinations of watermelon (sounds weird but it was truly delicious), followed by a heavenly main of Wagyu beef and a cheese platter. I can't praise the chef enough. Some comments on this site refer to the restaurant as expensive. I would say it's great value. And the setting is unforgettable. And you can have the apéro downstairs in the beautiful vaulted salon, and even enjoy a game of pool in an oval room that even has queues adapted to the difficult angles. Well done guys, this hotel and it's restaurant is an exceptional achievement! And a special mention to the staff and especially the very attentive Hortense (?) who served us at dinner and breakfast.

Our stay at the castle in the French countryside was nothing short of magical. The interior design was authentically regal, making us feel like royalty from the moment we arrived. The staff exceeded our expectations, accommodating our every need, including setting up a rollaway bed for our odd number of children with ease. The location was ideal for our canyoning adventures, offering the perfect balance of seclusion and accessibility. The on-site restaurant served amazing food and graciously stayed open late to accommodate our late return. Enjoying drinks and cocktails on the outside deck before dinner was the perfect way to unwind. It was an absolutely perfect stay in every way.

This place is absolutely AMAZING! It is so peaceful and the staff is so lovely, We visited for one night this past July and I really can't say enough nice things. The food was incredible and the atmosphere was really like no other. Such a unique experience. After arriving we walked down to the small village of Trigance and it was so quaint, a true small village with no crowds. I would return in a heartbeat and would highly recommend!

We stayed at the Chateau for one night in August. Upon entering, we were greeted by wonderful staff. It felt as thought we had the whole Chateau to ourselves, with all of the individual attention. Manon showed us around the Chateau & to our room. It was already set up for our family of three. After a brief rest and time on our private terrace, we had aperitifs in the lounge and played some pool. The view from the panoramic terrace is breathtaking! The young couple that manage the property (hostess & chef) run a phenomenal operation. They are so kind & the dinner was absolutely amazing - 5 + stars. In the morning, we were served a wonderful continental breakfast with fresh French pastries, cheeses, fruit & granola. It all exceeded our expectations! We would recommend the Chateau de Trigance to all! See a few comments below from my husband regarding getting to the Chateau… Husband’s tips: When you cross the tiny bridge, turn right. DO NOT TURN LEFT! Apple Maps will not direct you to the parking lot, but to the area below the Chateau. In the morning, they will bring breakfast anywhere. If you would like to eat in your room or on the scenic terrace just ask. Their whole purpose seems to be to make their guests happy.

A beautifully situated chateau with amazing views from the terrace. Our bedroom was furnished in keeping with the chateau but with modern comfort! Breakfast was lovely and dinner was superb. The staff were amongst the most helpful and friendly we have come across.

Spent 7 wonderful nights at the Chateau. Unique and sublime location; breathtaking views across the valley; complete peace and quiet (no air conditioning noise!) - just the wind and birdsong. Delightful and very helpful staff who really care as it's their business. Excellent food of Michelin quality (you would have to go to a Relais & Châteaux to eat as well); hearty breakfasts. Great hikes direct from the hotel down to the gorges or back over the other side. Very good value.

In one word - excellent. One can find the excellency in every corner. We came for two nights and got the suit with the terrace ( We had full privacy). I can describe our stay as a magical experience. The hotel - a medieval castle perched atop a mountain with pretty Trigance village below and the valley around. The rooms are spacious, very clean and comfortable. The "lobby" is a place where you can relax, drink, play and listen to soft music. There are some additional playing rooms if you wish to be alone. There is a lovely bar and dining area where all the guests are meeting to dinner. Actually no-one bothered to look for a restaurant. The chef Theo is a young man who has a vision and a story in the food . Talking about the food - it was excellent tasty colorful, nice served. The wine was a good choice. The don't serve breakfast but you can order a "tray" with breakfast beautifully served. We asked for some changes and for some more of the dishes , we got it with a lovely smile. Sitting out on the terrace and having breakfast was a very special experience. About the staff - I don't remember the name of the lady who cleaned the room but to get such a huge smile and good morning is not a common thing in France (no intent to insult). Manon - the girl at the reception - what a girl. So helpful, so cutie. The young people at the hotel are doing all the work. Managing the hotel serving breakfast and dinner, making drinks helping with all the needs of the guests, recommending on tours around and in Verdon, and I can write a lot more. I am very exited from this place (it's a 3 star hotel that reaches the heavens) Hortense is the manager or the leader of all this magic and she is just 25 (?). One can rarely find such places now a days. Thank you Hortense, Manon and Theo for a pleasant stay

I only came here for dinner and drinks and to tour the castle a little bit, but it was one of the most magical experiences I had in France. Food was fantastic, the view was wondrous, and I've never felt so enchanted by the charm and mystery of an old castle. The fact you can sleep there and wake up to such an amazing view from the ramparts is worth the stay. Additionally, I am so appreciative of the staff - theire care and attention is one of my most cherished memories as a tourist. They made me feel understood and truly made me feel at ease, which amplified the enjoyable experience all the more. The proprietors are unmatched in their skill and care!
