An ancient monastery of the 16th century restored to become a 5 star hotel. A private villa where you can find a haven of rest in a refined but informal atmosphere just a stones throw from the center of Tropea. Villa Paola is a pearl unique in its kind; the result is a mix of wisteria -bougainvillea - jasmine - palm and orange tree with a secular sea pine rising on the main terrace. The spacious outdoors include an infinity pool with a sea view; a lush garden terrace many relaxation areas both indoors and outdoors a cloister with arches a large kitchen and a lounge and breakfast room.

We moved here from another local hotel. We were in a difficult position and the staff were very accommodating and helpful. They looked after us very well and saved our holiday, which we are very grateful. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. The room was comfortable and had a generous sized balcony with a sea view. As we paid on arrival, the beach taxi, and beach were included and there was no extra cost. The pool is very spacious and well served. The cocktails were delicious, with generous snacks. The breakfast arrangements were reasonable but limited and there was an odd setup with drinks, where you had to be served at a bar. This caused a lot a congestion and it would be far better to make water and orange juice etc available freely to avoid this. I would definitely stay here again. It is stone throw away from the train station and a very short walk into town.

A charming small-scale hotel in a perfect location with a stunning sea view. The center is a 10-minute walk away and a romantic private staircase takes you to the beach. There is also a small swimming pool to cool down . The rooms are practical and modernly furnished. The breakfast buffet is varied with a wide range and fresh fruit. The staff are very helpful and friendly. We have been coming here for 7 years now and it feels like coming home for us.

Rest in June, from 14 to 25, room 103. Beautiful in all respects hotel, rest very happy. Addresses hotel: 1. The hotel is on a hill with a stunning view from any point on the territory: sea, port, Tropea, mountains ... the best panoramic pictures we did not leave the hotel. 2. Far from the city noise and the crowd, at the same time to the city center, beaches, port, from where ships open for a tour and even the railways can be reached on foot without any effort. If you don't want to walk, you can call a motor taxi tick, 10 euros one trip. 3. 5 minutes from the hotel is a beautiful beach, sandy, there is a paid area with cheeslones and free, where you can come with your umbrella, see my separate review for Tropea beach about the beach. It was so much liked to us (though at the nearest and in the Capo Vaticano we were also), that no more to go anywhere, not because close, just it was for us the best beach in Tropea In the hotel quietly, quietly, guests don't interfere with each other despite that, That hotel is all 30, probably. We had a standard room with a small patio, a door-ooking that everybody here rumbles and one bed. The room is just great, not luxurious, but everything you need to eat and done quite thoughtfully. About the door of the window I want to say separately: it absolutely does not prevent living, consists of a glass part and a separate door of the roller. Both perfectly pass the light and air. We lived with an open glass door, only used roller. Because we don't like the air conditioner. In the evening, the room was placed on the rails of the palantines, so that the room was not viewed from the street, but it is not necessary, as except for your neighbors no one passes the room, so the territory is arranged. Breakfast modest: coffee, 2 juice, tea, cut sausage and cheese, sausages, eggs, cruissans, cake, sweet pie and doughnuts, butter, jam, chocolate pasta and yoghurt. But we had enough almost until the evening with a light snack and appetite in the day) During the day on the respiratory bar works, you can buy coffee, ice cream, water, juice, alcohol, panini with different finishes. Our stay at Sui Generis was perfect - the room was spotless, housekeeping attended twice a day to keep it that way. The staff went above and beyond - Rocco and (I think) Anna on reception were friendly and accommodating, providing great recommendations for tours, places to eat and even hairdressers during a hair emergency! The pool area and bar was a great spot to enjoy a drink and a light lunch. Breakfast was magnificent, and the catering to my wife’s need for gluten free was exemplary. We had to leave early on our last day, so the night before a beautiful breakfast was left in our room. The hotel is well located, being a short 8-10 minute walk to the centre of Tropea. We wished we had more than three days here, to further enjoy both Tropea and Sui Generis. Thanks Rocco and staff for such a memorable stay!
