I had to get a last minute room because of a snow storm. This hotel had good reviews and decent prices. I cannot express how disappointing this place is. The rooms smell like cigarettes (even though non-smoking), the walls are paper thin, the window does not close all the way, the fitness center is actually a storage room and the fitness equipment is pushed to the center of the room, and the hot tub is cold. I really don’t know how this place got decent reviews. It’s a cheap hotel that they slapped a layer of paint on. I should have paid $20 extra to get a better hotel.

We had a great stay at the Desert Inn in Tucumcari. Great location very attentive staff, clean room, comfortable bed, and clean safe well lit parking lot. No hot breakfast but plenty to get your day started. I would definitely stay here again. .

Cute and clean property off of I-40, good room rate. It was a last minute overnight stop as getting late and Amarillo, TX was our slated destination for the night. We like supporting small businesses. The Route 66 community is unique and fun to drive around.

Great experience! Davon was great. Easy check in . He went the extra mile to provide change for washer and dryer. Also suggestions for food. Great customer service and he was also very friendly and accommodating . Room was clean upon arrival .

No bed bugs, wohooo! Beds linens, pillowcases & covers smell crisp & fresh. Room was neat , bathroom was clean with towels and essential soaps are in all the right places. Toilet bowl is pristine. Entrance of the hotel is welcoming & friendly. Carpets and floors are well-maintained and clean. After endless driving from Missouri, we made it to Tucumcari and found Desert Inn a wonderful experience. We slept like a baby. No loud trafffic noise too. Location is awesome.Will be returning to this place for sure.

Where do I begin? Win number 1; I booked this room for under $70 a night (after tax!). Interior corridor property, which is another win for me. 2-levels, no elevator though so do be aware of that. The older lady at check in was the absolute sweetest. I enjoyed having a chat with her, even after having been on the road for 14 hours. My room was great (#232). Fairly small, but the layout works. Did not feel cramped as a solo traveler. Bed was comfy, room was clean, and the a/c was cold. Checkout was a breeze, and the hotel offers a limited hot breakfast. At this price point, it doesn’t get any better than this. I will stay again if I have to drive this route again, and will recommend to anyone looking for a stay in the area. Outstanding job, Desert Inn.

Excellent hospitality,room,pool and laundry room. Clean, comfortable and good breakfast. All you need on the road and very reasonably priced, thanks for an excellent stopover on our Route 66 Road Trip 👍😎 Thanks for your advice on our next stop, the Grand Canyon

Cindy was great! Very helpful and easy checkin. Highly recommend the Desert Inn. Cindy made a great dinner recommendation and was a treat at the front desk. I hope to be back again to Tucumcari and will definitely go back to the Desert In and hope to see Cindy again.

came into town for construction work for the next month myself and 4 other worker checked out other hotels in area and was not impressed we checked out Desert Inn hotel , Greeting us at the front desk was Davon the front desk clerk we explained to him we would need 5 rooms for maybe the next month are so he greeted us with a smile and professionalism , he took care of us and we are so expressed with the hotel room are clean staff is always courteous , cleaning personnel always do a great job, indoor pool, and hot tub are great, breakfast is small but healthy , I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling thru the area. Davon will greet you with a smile and take care of you . He should be promoted to manger
