We stayed at La Palmita Hotel in Tulum, Mexico, booking a 6-bed mixed dorm room for $22.73 USD per person per night in March 2023 through bookings.com. However, we later discovered that booking via Airbnb would have been a more cost-effective option. Throughout our week-long stay, the hotel staff, from the manager to the front desk attendants and housekeepers, were consistently warm and friendly. The hostel room itself was spacious and welcoming, with amenities such as a shared fridge, a clean bathroom and shower, a secure locked cabinet for personal belongings, and a large ceiling fan. The AC was turned on by the staff from 8 pm to 8 am, and they gladly provided extra blankets when needed. Each bunk bed had its own curtains for privacy, a modern power outlet with one plug and two USB charging ports, and a convenient built-in shelf for phones and personal items. Additional facilities at the hotel included multiple bathrooms, hammocks, and a rooftop area with a breathtaking view of Tulum Town. The rooftop also featured a fully equipped communal kitchen. The location was superb, close to all necessary amenities, including the Aldo bus station. Moreover, booking a stay here granted access to two sister properties, each with its own pool and unique atmosphere. Just a few blocks away, towards the beach, there was the Caliza Tulum Hotel, offering a tranquil rooftop pool, covered seating, and outdoor shower and bathroom. Casa Sol, another accommodation option, provided a kitchenette for $155.08 and a single room for $65. By staying here, guests also had access to the owner's sister properties, both with swimming pools and their distinct vibes. Additionally, Casa Sol offered bike rentals at affordable rates, with $100 pesos (around $5 USD) for 12 hours or $160 pesos (about $8.50 USD) for a 24-hour rental period. If you're looking for the cheapest option, Airbnb offers rooms at La Palmita for $12 per night:
