Everything is great about this hotel. Very attentive staff. Everyone treats customers with respect. The location is also great as it is closer to everything like Srikrishna temple and beaches. For us, somebody attended at 4 AM to fix an issue with hot water. They also gave suggestions on sightseeing which were very helpful. Fodd in the in-house restaurant โMadhuramโ is also great. Particularly โGoli-bajeโ. Overall very nice stay and I would recommend this to everyone.

We stayed in this resort for three nights from 24th to 27th Dec in Premium Room number 516 on 4th floor. The size of room was quite spacious and big. The room was clean. The bathroom size was also quite spacious and clean. As a bonus, it also had bath tub:-). All the staff including housekeeping, restaurant and front desk were very helpful, friendly and providing very prompt service. Buffet breakfast was of good quality and taste ***** with wide variety. However, the breakfast was served on 1st floor which was just a plain hall having plastic tables and chairs. Location of this resort was good as it meant that we were out of hustle-n-bustle of Udupi city. The distance of this resort from the nearest beach was just 15 minutes walk. The interior of the room and the hotel was dated. The rooms need painting. The furniture in the room such as wardrobe, cupboard etc needs polishing. The lobby in the reception area also had many patches of leakages and faded painting. Overall, this resort is in need of immediate refurbishing. They had provided Kettle and coffee mugs. But there was no tea bags/coffee/sugar sachets. I asked for the same to the reception but they said they can't provide the same. I also requested for hand towel, for which I got the same response from reception. Finally, since we stayed here during Christmas season, the price being charged was 2.5 times of normal rates. The price didn't justify the points I mentioned above. Unfortunately, for me it didn't turn out to be value for money.
The hotel staff were very helpful, the location of the hotel is perfece and the parking space is very nice. However, The following things can be improved in the hotel. 1. Providing water bottle - Half litre water bottles ( non branded, or may be I will call it locally branded ) were provided. This can be replaced with a one litre branded water bottles so that as a guest I am very comfortable with the brand that I am using. 2. The AC in the room was having a little smell, I believe it is due to the AC machine which is old enough now for replacement, this can be fixed to make the guest feel more relaxed at the room 3. Since the booking was done, breakfast was complimentary, However, when we visited the breakfast counter, the ambience looked as if the breakfast was more of a obligatory event for the hotel. Choice of food was very less and also the quality of Dosa items especially were pathetic, the sourness in the dosa batter was evident in the smell of the food. Even though this was informed, at the counter itself, I did not get any response which made me feel that as a guest I am not being treated properly.

#FIRSTHEPLUSES We met the owner the day we arrived. This was my message to her. Thank you so much for arranging for a cooler. That sure made our evenings very pleasant in the sit out. Your recommendation for Prawn Biryani, silver fish ๐ rawa fry for dinner was perfect too. And ofcourse it was only because of you that we could get to see the Heritage Village in Manipal and enjoy that regional authentic lunch at The Mill. She had also recommended seeing the Chariot procession held every day at the Krishna temple at Udupi. ๐. Which we couldn't see but mentioning here for the benefit of other traveller's. #THEMINUSES The resort is blessed with an absolutely fabulous location. You are blessed with an absolutely fabulous location for the resort. However, would like to give you a suggestions to make your resort more attractive. 1. The overall look of the resort needs to be spruced up. The pond behind doesn't look clean. There was a foul smell coming from where our rooms were. But upon telling the Manager the next day that was taken care off. As in any other resort the cleaning staff should be on the job for it to always have a spruced up look. 2.The approach to get on to the boat needed to be swept clean and the boat itself needs to be spotlessly clean at all times for after all the charge for an hour is a considerable amount. Must add though that the boatman does a good job of showing the various sites. 2. The rooms- A)They were musty . B)There were cobwebs on the windows. The curtains had a few rings come off and they are definitely not adequate enough to shut out the light. The curtains need a change too.Perhaps Jaipur prints? C) One of the lights was not working. D) The lighting is inadequate. Table lamps will add to the general ambience of the room. E) The bathroom needs a shelf near the sink to keep toileteries. As well as more hooks or stand to hang clothes/ towels etc. The one already there is too high. F) The bathroom floor is smooth mosaic. It is dangerously slippery when wet. G) The colour combination of the walls and upholstery is dark. Could do with a more cheerful look. H) There is no intercom. It is unfair to expect guests to use their personal phones to get in touch with the staff. I) The wifi has very poor connectivity. The breakfast- On the first day since only the four of us were present in the resort There was no buffet breakfast. So after being told what was available the idlis and the sambhar was stone cold. The vada and the Dosa were both not upto the mark. There was a strange oil smell in the food. The order took a long time in getting done too. But having reported this to the manager the next day the breakfast was good and service prompt. A word about the staff- They are all very polite and helpful. And we were happy with their service. Only, it is important to ensure that they are bathed and clean when they report for work. Since the tariff you charge is steep, it will be nice if you pay immediate att

My family and I came to this hotel after staying at a couple of 5 star Marriott hotels around India. I have to say that this Hotel exceeded my expectations. They should not be a 3 star hotel and instead close to a 5 star! We had an amazing stay with them. Super clean! Great staff :) Good food! Highly highly recommend anyone to come here!
My mother & I traveled to Mookambika temple, Kollur for a Chandika Homam. We stayed at Mahalakshmi Residency for 2 nights. We enjoyed our stay throughly. From the hotel staff to the staff at the floor restaurant, everyone went out of there way to making our stay a pleasant one. Special mention should also made of the establishment. Upkeep or maintenance is of a high caliber. Bathroom fixtures, AC, fabric all look new. Rooms are clean, bright lighting and well appointed. Proximity to the temple is a special mention.
Strategically located. Spacious rooms. Great staff. The only drawback is the rooms and lobby stinks terrible during monsoon time for the carpeting across floors and the typical damp smell thereof. We keep staying at this property every month except during monsoon times during which we prefer an equally similar property nearby.
GGuest UserThe stay was very good. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and hygienic and service was excellent. The hotel is located very conveniently near manipal university with a lot of places to visit nearby including restaurants and museums among others. Overall, a really good experience. Loved it.
GGuest UserOk let me list down the pros first: 1. Rooms: the rooms are SPACIOUS. We booked an executive room and it had some space..the best part was the ample space given near the panoramic windows to sit down. 2. Amenities: it had all the amenities like coffee maker etc. though plug points are mostly away from the bed which is a nuisance. 3. Service: was ok. People seemed less but they were prompt. 4. Food: well they dont seem to have their own kitchen and probably order from outside. You can order from swiggy though. However we ordered in evening and the food was quite delicious and not expensive. 5. Location: the hotel in on main udupi manipal road and very close to MIT(1.5 kms). Nearby there is INOx and a mall with a few shops. Cons: 1. Location: yes even though close to town getting auto is a nightmare. Unless you have your own vehicle it is a headache. 2. Early checkin: we came at 6 am in the morning and though we had requested for early checkin we were charged 1000 extra. This could have been communicated by hotel earlier but they did not. 3. Upkeep: though the hotel room was good a few things needed maintenance. Like the shower lever was not working properly. There was no place to keep soap in shower and earlier one was broken. There was no AC in the lobby/reception and the poor receptionist was sweating. Altogether a decent place to stay if you have your own vehicle.
We loved our stay at Jyoti Residency. Will definitely recommend anyone going there to stay there. Spacious clean rooms and close to the temple. Very few hotels out there who can provide the services like them. We were lucky to get 2 rooms there as someone had cancelled by the time we got in to their hotel around 9.30pm. Scouted a dozen hotels in and around the area but did not find any clean and tidy for a family of 4 to stay. Out of desperation, would have ended up taking some lodge hadn't I tried my luck at Jyoti Residency. Always suggest everyone to book hotels before going to such places. We had gone during Ugadi so almost all hotels were completely booked for the night. Would like to thank Biju and his team at the reception desk who were helpful throughout our stay and always wore a smile. Would like to specially call out to Tikko (housekeeping staff) who got my severe bout of shivering to a halt with his hand and leg massage and Reji Annan (their in-house driver) who drove me all the way to the nearby hospital that is 30kms away (Adarsha Hospital, Kundapura Highway) at around 1am in the night and got me back to the room safely by 3.30am. I'm really happy that there are such good people in this friendly temple town who goes out of their way to help you (something that was missing in our previous day stay in an overhyped Cafe, Gokarna).
GGuest UserWe stayed at the hotel booking 2 rooms. One was Deluxe sea view, another was std Double bed room(non-sea facing). The stay experience was very pleasant. Likes: 1. Best Location in Malpe 2. Service/Staff behavior 3. Cleanliness 4. Food quality Some of the improvement areas as follows: 1. Furniture & fittings need revival 2. Food is overpriced in the in-house restaurant 3. Hotel rooms are prices based on 2 persons, not based on size. This can be re-priced based on accommodation capacity
GGuest UserEverything was good, good service and hotel's rooms also ultimate, hotel hygine and atmosphere everything was good and one of the best hotel in Manipal, if any one plan to stay in manipal, once you must visit ashlesh lodge, everything was awesome.
GGuest UserI'm a frequent visitor at Kollur Mookambika temple, it's one of the most peaceful places. I have stayed in few other properties in Kollur but must say, this place is one of the best maintained property in Kollur. Very clean and good hygiene maintained. Service by the staff is really appreciated even though they had minimum staff during the pandemic. We stayed for 2 days and the hotel arranged for our trekking trip to kodachadri and few temples around. Breakfast was arranged for us on request. Will surely visit again.
GGuest UserThis was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in my life with regard to the overall ***agement of the Hotel. This hotel is placed very well in the heart of the city and has decent rooms. The problem starts when you book the hotel rooms from online aggregators like MMT or Cleartrip. The check in time as mentioned is 1 PM and it is a very inconvenient time for most of us. I requested the hotel to let me in by 12.30 and they said no and asked for Rs.600 for allowing me for checking in half an hour early. I visited near by places and later checked in at 3.30 PM. The bed and linen is very dirty. The pillow is very thin, I asked for an extra pillow and they told me to cough up Rs.30 towards extra pillow. We were 3 of us and 1 water bottle of 1 ltr was provided. We ordered room service and went to sleep by 10PM. At 11.30 PM someone rang the bell and when I answered, the waiter was standing asking if I want anything else to eat. I told I had enough and was sleeping. He told me to clear the bills immediately and made me clear the room service bill at the middle of the night. I told them we are a family and wonโt run away without paying you. This is one of the worst experiences of my life where the ***agement of the hotel has so much of trust deficit. If you are staying here, remember to carry your own toiletries and towels. The towels are very old and stink. Overall worst experience. Stay at your risk.
