Our top hotel picks are based on price, location, and guest reviews to help you find the best stay.
"Hotels in Ulaanbaatar are actually very expensive. This time, three of us were on a business trip, so we chose this place. It has a great location, on the Central Street, next to the Ulaanbaatar Department Store. The owner is enthusiastic and responsible, and all the necessary facilities are available. The beds are also relatively clean. But the only point is that if you compare this B&B with a hotel, its facilities and management are not as good as those of a hotel. But for this price, we are already very satisfied."
"I booked a 2-night stay, but after just one night and one morning here, I feel the need to share my experience.
I was really looking forward to the hotel breakfast after days of traveling on the outskirts. However, despite paying for a breakfast buffet, I wasn’t given any choice of what to eat. The only option served included bacon, beef sausage and sunny side ups, which all of the above could be an issue for guests with dietary restrictions. When I asked about alternatives, the staff were unhelpful—even though the restaurant was nearly empty with only two tables occupied.
Communication was also frustrating. I understand there may be a language barrier, so we used a translation app to clearly request coffee creamer and butter. Even then, we ended up with four black coffees and no butter. When I asked for tomato sauce, I was given warm tomato pasta sauce instead. Small issues, but they added up to a frustrating experience.
If you’re only looking for a place to sleep, this hotel might be fine. But if you expect good service and attention to detail, it may not meet expectations. A hotel stay can make or break a trip, and for a four-star hotel, I expected much better. Unfortunately, this experience has made me reconsider Millennium Hotels in general.
To make matters worse, after I raised my complaint, the hotel agreed to refund my breakfast. However, they insisted I bear their platform and marketing fees on Trip.com, so it wasn’t a full refund. Lolol. I would have gladly paid 100% for my breakfast if it was what I had actually paid for. Yet, when the hotel is at fault, they refuse to take 100% responsibility and still expect to avoid any loss.
Looking back, I wish I had listened to my friend’s recommendation and booked the Kempinski Khan Hotel instead."
"The hotel is very close to the central square of Mongolia, making it very convenient for sightseeing.
There are family rooms for three, perfect for families.
The room was clean and well-maintained, but the curtains didn't let in much light. One of the large windows only had a half-curtain, so we had to pull it up to block out some light, which affected our sleep.
Also, a deposit was required upon check-in, but there was no receipt. When returning the key, the staff seemed to have forgotten to return the deposit, but fortunately I remembered before leaving.
The room rate includes a buffet breakfast, which isn't very extensive, but tasted decent."
"Like the former Soviet country, the building and interior feel like Russia. In Mongolia, you should not expect accommodations in conditions like Korea or Japan. I'm glad that the warm water comes out and there is no smell."
"Good and clean hotel. While it's rated as 5-star, I would give it a high international 4-star rating. Staff are helpful and their English is very good. Location overlooks the main square of UB - this is a plus and minus. If there are a lot of activities/celebrations going on while you're in UB and you're facing the square, you'll hear ALL OF IT. If you're looking to go the main business area just north of the Shangri-la Mall, then it's about a casual 15-minute walk."
"The restaurant was excellent, far better than I had expected. The water pressure however, was chaotic and would change pressure drastically every minute or less. When the pressur was high, it would cause the shower head to raise vertically and spray the whole bathroom as the shower curtains would either vacuum such around the shower occupant or would blow outwards away from the bathtub, causing water to spray outside of the bath tub. Other than the water pressure issues, the stay was excellent."
"The hotel was fine and I have no complaints. I found my room to be clean and pleasant, and the service to be OK. It is conveniently located in a mall and has a convenience store right next door.
They were having an issue with the key cards when I stayed there where I had multiple issues pressing the floor my room was on. I had to manually get this fixed several times at the front desk. Additionally, I don't know if they are associated with the hotel, but the coffee shop in the lobby is awful and has horrible service. My last complaint: I was asking the man who worked at the front desk to restore access to my room, given this key card issue as I had a meeting in 2 minutes I was running late to. He was trying to sell me a hotel-associated taxi that was overpriced, which annoyed me."
"This hotel is located in an office building, occupying several floors. There's a convenience store and a coffee shop on the ground floor.
Check-in was brilliant! The first at reception spoke some English and checked me in at 7.30 in the morning without a problem. My room was spacious, the bed was large, although on the hard side. At this point the good things about the hotel come to an end.
Unfortunately, all the rest is quite bad. The lighting system is broken and you can't turn off the light above the bed unless you take out the key card, but then power outlets go off, so you can't sleep and charge your phone at the same time. Furniture knobs are falling apart, so does the knob on the shower. WiFi was down 2 times during my stay, including a very frustrating 12+ hour outage. Housekeeping doesn't seem to know what a Do Not Disturb sign means, entering the room regardless. Toiletries are the cheapest possible, not corresponding to the hotel name (e.g. Premium), lol.
All in all, price/quality ratio was underwhelming. I will not stay here again."
"The hotel room was very comfortable! The front desk was so friendly and helpful. They arranged a driver for me to go to local attractions and the airport. The room service was bountiful and delicious. The gym had all the equipment for a serious lifter!"
"The hotel has a great location. Using the UBcab app, a taxi costs about two or three US dollars to get to the city center.
The hotel is located on the 11th to 13th floors, with a shopping mall and two floors of restaurants downstairs. However, most restaurants close around 7 PM, so you'll need to go to nearby restaurants.
Although the room is right next to the train tracks, there's no noise from midnight until 6 or 7 AM. Trains don't run frequently outside of these hours, so I, who's sensitive to noise, didn't need the earplugs provided by the hotel.
We booked a quad room, which was spacious and beautifully decorated.
The two single beds were located in a dead corner of the room, and the comforter was too thick, so the air conditioning wasn't working properly, making it a bit warm!
We saw two insects, which was a bit surprising!
The air conditioner malfunctioned for two consecutive nights. On the first night, the staff arrived and contacted someone else, and it was back to normal after about ten minutes. On the second night, the air conditioner stopped working again (the screen didn't display the temperature), but it suddenly returned to normal after about ten minutes. I called the staff online, but it suddenly returned to normal. I hope the hotel addresses this issue!
We rented for four days and three nights. The room was serviced on the second day, but not on the third.
The young male receptionist at the front desk spoke good English and was very polite. He deserves our praise!"

The owner provided free coffee n tea 🙏🏻 just a small suggestion, if he provide water machine future will be perfect!
GGuest UserI stayed here briefly as a stopover, as there was a gap between my arrival in the country and checking into my next accommodation, and I also wanted to gather some information. Perhaps due to the time of year or my schedule, I didn't see any Koreans during my stay, but I did notice three Japanese guests and a few other international travelers.
With a CU convenience store to the right, a GS25 to the left, and a Korean market and restaurant across the street, the location is quite convenient and accessible. You take the elevator to the 5th floor, and then need to walk up one more flight of stairs. Upon entering, you're expected to change into indoor slippers on the right side of the entrance, which isn't immediately obvious and could use clearer signage or instructions. I later discovered that there's a sauna and shower facility located to the left of the entrance.
Breakfast is offered, but it's very much tailored to local tastes, which caught me a bit off guard. The reception staff are proficient in English and Japanese, though their Korean skills were somewhat limited.
It's fine for a short-term stay, but I wouldn't recommend it for an extended trip or if you have a packed itinerary. However, if you're keen to interact with Japanese travelers, it could be a worthwhile choice.
Smoking requires guests to go down to the first floor, which can be a minor inconvenience. On the plus side, having a bank on the first floor was very convenient.

MM366344****700km from Inner Mongolia to Ulaanbaatar, it takes a long time by car. I arrived at the hotel at 24pm. The boss waited for me for 5 hours. The room is very new and clean. The Mongolian people are really hospitable. We Chinese and Mongolians are brothers. We hope that people who want to come to Mongolia will bring friendship to promote the friendship between the two countries
I like Mongolia and Mongolian people, and the boss also provides various fruit candies and bread

OOng Lin KuanThis location of this hotel is quite strategic considering the number of restaurant, pubs and food outlets nearby provided you are willing to do some walking.. Hotel room is clean and service is commendable. I wish to highlight one particular front reception staff for special mention. Her name is
ERDENEKHISHIG. She was kind & helpful and would go out of her way to provide service and assistance like calling a cab on our behalf. However this hotel also has her shortcomings. Breakfast is too basic and monotonous. Bread which is the most universal item is not available. Also check out time at 10am is ridiculously early. It also puzzles me that this hotel still provide smoking rooms which is totally umnecessary as the current trend is towards non smoking rooms for the whole hotel. I hope my positive feedback will help your hotel to upgrade her image further.

GGuest UserThank you for everthing. I lost my important belongings, but the staff tried to find them together. He called the taxi driver to find them instead of me because I had only my countries' phone number. On the last day, I tried to give him a tip, but he didn't take it because he knew there are no customes of tipping in my country. I was very moved by his all behavior. Meeting him made me think that I wanna go back to Mongolia again. I will absolutely stay at the same hotel when I go back to Mongolia. Thank you!!

AAleFragolaWe had a great experience at this hotel. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was big and very comfortable, we really had a good rest. The room has everything you need, such as hangers, place to store your belongings, a fridge and complementary water and tea. We used their laundry service and our clothes were clean and soft.
The service is amazing, they helped us book a taxi to go to the airpor, answered all our questions and always tried to help us.
The location is convenient, you can easily reach by walk the main tourists' spots and restaurants.
Very tasty breakfast, although it's not a huge buffet, I found that there was still quite few options and have healthy options, even for people like us who do not usually have savory breakfast. I loved their overnight porridge and muffins.
If I ever come back to UB I will stay again at this hotel.

SSteven WayneI had previously stayed at the ibis and decided to change to a hotel that was more downtown. The location is very good. The bed was good. Wi-Fi worked. Shower was nice. Desk staff was helpful. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

DdddennishoOverall very satisfied, distance is an advantage, very close to all the core attractions. The breakfast selection is average, there are too many Korean tour groups, it is very noisy, and you should avoid eating between 7 and 8 o'clock. Excellent facilities!

GGuest UserI stayed here for 2 nights in early October 2023. This is my first time in Mongolia. I sometimes take early morning flights to the next country, so it fit my travel style.
◯Good points
・A luxury apartment built in 2022? A room like a room. It's quite spacious and it's interesting to see the housing situation in Mongolia.
・There is floor heating and heating in all rooms, keeping the room warm.
・There is a balcony where you can have a drink in your room while looking at the magnificent land and sunset.
・There was a kitchen, cutlery, and a drum-type washing machine.
・Although there is a rhythm, the temperature and water pressure of the hot water are satisfactory. There is also a bathtub
・There is a large supermarket about a 15 minute walk away, and a convenience store-sized supermarket on the first floor of the hotel, so you won't have any trouble shopping.
・Almost all the outlets in the room are universal, so Japanese home appliances can be plugged in.
△Points that caught my attention
・There is no hair dryer. It's dry so it will dry within an hour...
・Maybe you can't flush paper in the toilet. Is this also normal in Mongolia?
・There are some amenities, but I have sensitive skin so I didn't use them just in case. Better bring it
・It's better not to drink water. The shower is a little yellow.
✕Hard points
・Taxi is the only route to the airport. The front desk called it for me and it was $25, which was a bit expensive for a solo traveler.
However, since it takes 30 minutes to get there from the new airport, it was a great addition to our itinerary. When you arrive from the airport, if you make a reservation in advance, we will pick you up for free, and if you forget, you can take the shuttle bus for 30,000T. The public bus ride from the hotel to the city center takes 1-1.5 hours and costs 500T each way. Depending on the search site, the airport may be displayed right next to the hotel, but please note that this airport is currently not in use.
AAsyelThe receptionist ladies are so kind! They even helped me with my heavy ass luggage despite being ladies as there were no men around to help!
They are kind and nice people!
The whole city hotels were booked during my stay
But it was nice to stay there for one night
