Lonsdale House Hotel

What a gem! This hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. The elegance of the apartments is matched only by their cleanliness. The staff went above and beyond to make my stay memorable, and I appreciated the personal touch that Neil, the owner, brings to the hospitality experience. I can’t wait to return!

Great stay in newly renovated building. Super luxury and cosy, kitchen is kitted out with all equipment we needed. Also a beautiful private garden where we enjoyed a glass of wine. Very close to lovely pubs and restaurants, and into Lake District in 25 mins.

We were welcomed warmly by Neil the owner, he took us to our apartment which was amazing. Lots of light, space great furnishings very comfy bed, lovely bathroom, great kitchen little box of goodies for our stay, Lonsdale is in a great place in Ulverston, handy for all the town has to offer we throughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to go back

Very deceiving property. I was attracted to this property due to the great rates advertised and the amazing decor in the photographs on the website. What I found on arrival was a bit of a shock , the place is a building site none of the rooms are finished and to say it is a work in progress is an understatement, I don't even think some of the advertised photos are even of this place, none of the rooms or amenities where as advertised, the walled garden in particular was unkempt with no seating areas or facilities to relax , in fact I am pretty sure building work is still going on in this property. there was no staff available to talk too about this.I was particularly shocked to learn this building is a grade 2 listed building as it has been completely modernised so does not have any historical character. I hope it is in the process of improving but I certainly would not return as it did not meet my expectations.

Theres still a lot of work going on here scaffold covering the front and rear of the property and walls being built/ rebuilt inside. I struggle to see how the reviews from the last few months are honest and accurate as the photos from today suggest

Beautifully restored property in a fantastic location. Property has been refurbished to a very high standard with everything you could need. Lovely to have so much outside space for summer days and balmy summer evenings
