Hotel Uman is a fantastic hotel. We stayed two separate nights on our way to and from Finland. Nice quiet rooms with all the amenities. Lower level garage is very convenient and safe. Hotel Uman is within walking distance of all Umeå museums, university, river walk, shopping and ferry to Vaasa Finland. The food is excellent (breakfast and dinner) and both are free! The staff is superior---very friendly and accommodating. Hotel Uman is the place to stay in Umeå.

Thank you everyone at this hotel. My wife and I stayed here in February 2024 for 5 nights as part of a trip to Sweden. I booked it directly with the hotel based on location and the write up, as well as reviews here on Tripadvisor. What a treat. We had booked a suite on the highest floor and as far away from lifts as possible and this is exactly what we got. We had double aspect room overlooking the frozen river. The suite was spotlessly clean, with a really comfortable separate sitting room, a good sized bedroom with what seemed like a super king size bed and quite possibly the biggest bathroom we've ever had in any hotel, with a walk in shower and an enormous bath. Breakfast was buffet style with a really varied selection of hot and cold breakfast foods. The evening meal was a buffet, again with a good choice of hot and cold dishes. All of the food was very well presented and super tasty. This is hotel is a rare find. It is part of a chain of hotels, but this felt anything but that. It's in a perfect location for shopping, the city centre, the theatre, the bus depot and train station etc, they are all easily walkable. It has a basement car park to put a rental car in as well. I cannot praise the staff highly enough. The front desk staff were super helpful as soon as we arrived and were so friendly and welcoming. They all indulged my basic swedish and helped me to improve it. Once again, thank you all for a truly wonderful stay.
