Popular Umhlanga 4-star Hotels

The hotel is in a great location and the staff were helpful and friendly. I didn't particularly like the restaurant/ room service menu as it ONLY had milkshakes on their drinks menu. You have to inquire about other drinks like wine, juices, coffee etc. It would be nicer if all the drinks prices were listed. The kettle in my room was dirty but housekeeping and the front desk were apologetic and replaced it with a clean kettle quickly. Every cafe or restaurant around the hotel opens at 9a.m, so I recommend paying for the hotel breakfast buffet if you're an early bird like me. I learnt about loadshedding after coming back from a day out and finding no power except a light and the tv in my room. For foreign guests who don't know about it, it might be a nice touch if the hotel could place the loadshedding schedule in guest rooms so it doesn't come as an unwelcome surprise. The bed was comfy and the wifi was usually fast. Overall, I had a good stay at the hotel.

Hilton is great staff are very helpful and do there job with a smile. Rooms are decent and views aren't so bad. Very close to malls and food places. Stayed a few times during ramadaan and found the hotel caters for muslim guests that are fasting which is great not forgetting the hotel is muslim friendly which means you can have some of the meat products without having to worry if it's halal or not. Will definitely return

My stay here was absolutely lovely! The staff are very attentive and extremely helpful and friendly! I thoroughly enjoyed my time at The Pearls. I would like to give a shout at to the Executive Chef Gerald, who went above and beyond to prepare delicious vegetarian dishes with his special touch. He was very hospitable and kind! I will definitely be staying here the next time I visit Durban. Amazing service with a smile!

In addition to perfection, I don't know how to say it. The owner is a pair of elderly parents in their 70s, polite and very happy. I lived for more than ten years before Joburg. I renovated this manor in 2002. It was very beautiful, quiet and comfortable, Umhlanga.

What an elegant hotel. Beautiful spacious rooms, the staff is attentive and friendly. There’s a lot of restaurants around the hotel to choose from, the ocean is within a walking distance. I’ll definitely stay here next time I’m in Durban!

This was my first time staying at the Royal Palms and enjoyed my stay and it was a very relaxing stay. Very close to any shopping venue you want. The rooms are special. I will invite my friends to visit this hotel in the future.

Very nice family hotel, the service is very warm, American pastoral style. It feels very good. There are various styles along the coastline, and the hotel can try each one and find its favorite style.

This hotel is the most comfortable hotel I have ever stayed in overseas. It faces the sea and spring flowers. Recently, it is the period of summer and autumn. The temperature is pleasant and the surrounding area is covered by green forests. It takes 15 to 20 minutes to walk to the beach. It is about 2 kilometers. The most comfortable thing is that the kind and beautiful proprietress of the hotel is very good. As soon as I arrived, I took me to turn this homestay around and introduced the functional area and precautions in detail, and asked me to choose one from two room types. She likes it very much and is happy to communicate with people. The English speed is also very suitable, I like to chat with her, this is the opportunity and time you can't enjoy in other hotels! If you have the opportunity to bring your family over next time, you must still live here! The only thing to note is that occasionally monkeys come on the balcony, go out and wait for the balcony door, this morning in my next room, there is a monkey taking advantage of his time to go to the top floor restaurant for breakfast to visit his room, and take some food! Nice for a very short stay. Convenient location just minutes away from many restaurants and the ocean. Lovely auxiliary staff.
