Gooderson Leisure Fairways Self Catering and Timeshare Gold Crown Resort

We took a mid-week break at Fourways and were not disappointed. Firstly, it is in a most beautiful and tranquil setting. The folk at reception were extremely welcoming and we found all of the staff to be very friendly and willing to assist. Our chalet was spacious, spotlessly clean and very well-appointed. We had two excellent meals at the Bergview restaurant, which we can recommend. Fourways has access to all of the hotel facilities. There are a host of activities for both adults and children. The resort really has something for everyone.

If you are planning on losing a loved one or two, unexpectedly, be sure to let them know 30 days before the time so that you can receive a refund. Also make sure to send a follow up email in order to get a reply from their wonderfully friendly and helpful staff who fill their emails with empty platitudes but who claim their hands are tied due to certain bureaucratic excuses. These people really lack humanity.

Lovely location with plenty of facilities. The restaurants were good, plenty of sporting activities and some nice hikes. Being midweek it was a pleasure to virtually have the place to ourselves.

My husband and I were approached on the street in Phillipsburg to scratch a scratch card to win a prize. We felt pressured to do it but we did. Of course they told us we won because as you know everyone does. At first they said I won $500 dollars. Then it turned into $500 dollars, an iPad or an i-phone and they promised us for a 30 minute timeshare speal we would be given the prize. We got to the resort and they immediately told us it would be 90 minutes. We said whoa whoa - we were told 30 minutes. So the initial guy lied to us. We also found out that we could win a 5 night stay at a jw Marriott. Once we heard that we knew that's what we were going g to receive. Long story short - after almost 2 hours we were finally able to to break free. They told us that we did if fact win the vacation. Here's the real kicker. We could pick from Tampa, Jacksonville or Alaska. Hmmmm - didn't Tampa and Jacksonville just get hit by a hurricane, so we picked Alaska only to find out that you can't go from May thru August because it's the blocked out time period. Unbelievable. I took the time to write this review to save future travelers to St. Marten to not fall for the same scam that we did. It was a total waste of time from such a beautiful island.

We came for the first time after a lot of recommendations from friends. They didn’t exaggerate. It was lovely! We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!

A good place to spend time with family in a beautiful setting and with a number of activities to enjoy. A very relaxed atmosphere and close to some great day hikes. I think the jacuzzis by the pools need to be better managed - lots of groups use it while drinking alcohol, so not always an area you would want to bring young kids, and the fact that it is only cleaned twice a week is very concerning from a hygiene perspective - needles to say, we didn't use it!
