This is our 4th time visiting Sani Valley Lodge and it is still one of our favourite destinations in the world. If you want food for the soul and to leave replenished, this spot is for you. Tranquility takes on a new meaning and kayaking on the lake at sunrise or sunset is truly a magical experience. We were lucky enough to see a super moon rise over the lake while we were there and it took our breath away. Definitely choose the catering option - the food is delicious and gets delivered to your room. The log cabin is cosy and come with firewood. There are several hikes on the property and it is always exciting to see the antelope and zebra on your walk. If you want to get away from everything and to forget all your worries, book Sani Valley Lodge!

stayed here to visit Sani Pass. a thoroughly lovely stay. staff all pleasant and engaging. and as it was off season and a weekday they gave us a free upgrade to a larger unit. fully equipped kitchen, that even had an air fryer! even received a comp load of firewood, and they started a fire in the fireplace in a minute. takes me 10. our unit overlooked a peaceful dam and what a delight when antelope came to drink in the evening. even saw zebra. they even had an industrial strength electric underblanket that made our bed a cocoon. only caviat: 3km of dirt road, not conducive to low profile cars. ours was a suv, so no worries. would have stayed an extra night, but forgot my meds.

Perfect location. Great for family with children. Full views of a lake and mountain with 2 friendly horses and a few zebra. Fireplace in the lounge area. Staff very helpful and willing assist. Special mention to Silindile who was on hand to assist with anything you need. Easy to access sani pass. Arranged by hotel.

Wonderful chill out venue for group of friends or family. Very relaxing setting, good accommodation, tasty breakfast and friendly, helpful staff. All round value for money. Fur baby loved it too. Recommend the hot stone massage by Nonto and if you like porridge, you must try the stone ground mealies with cream and honey for breakfast.

We stayed for three nights in this delightful, peaceful and relaxing retreat. We were not the easiest of guests - breakfast an hour early due to a planned trip up the Sani Pass; text request for extra beers as we knew we wouldn't get back before reception closed and finally needed medical care that wasn't an emergency. These and other more standard requests were met with nothing but pleasantness, enthusiasm and efficiency. In short, standard of customer care was exceptional. Accommodation and housekeeping first class. I cannot recommend the Sani Valley Nature Lodges more highly. Only one suggestion: to possibly provide directions from the centre of Himeville (where the satnav dropped us off). Not a big deal as friendly locals were happy to help but it would have made the last few kms a little less panicky!.

We spent our days exploring, unwinding, and soaking up the tranquility—and every moment felt like a gift. The hospitality was warm and genuine, making us feel more like cherished guests than visitors. This was more than just a getaway—it was a memory we’ll treasure. My partner and I left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already planning our return. We’ll definitely be back!

My wife and I went to Sani Valley Nature Lodges on our honeymoon and we were greeted with amazing, caring smiles. The staff and owner are just so nice and welcoming. They do their best to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The lodge itself was well-kept with fresh water and a stacked fire-place every morning. It was so warm and cozy. The views were incredible and it was so peaceful. The staff are so accommodating and are always ready to help you with whatever you need to make your stay memorable and fun. Do be aware that the road to get there isn't great for small vehicles such as ours. The dirt road can be a little unnerving for such a car. It would be better to go with a slightly more high-rise car. We will definitely be going again and bringing more people this time to experience what we were so blessed to experience.
