Villas Bungalows Ballena

Great location and the bungalows were well appointed for a family. Our two bedroom bungalow was a good size with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, full kitchen, dining room, living room, private veranda with another dining table and hammock. It’s a small intimate property of only a few bungalows so it’s quieter which suits us just fine! Alexia at the front desk is awesome and happy to answer all of our questions. Located very close to the entrance of the National Park which is also the beach. All of the rooms had A/C which we appreciated. For a “free” beach offering, Playa Hermosa is only about a 5 min drive away and is huge…. (And good for sunsets…). For waterfalls, the nearby Catarata falls are awesome for swimming in and an easy walk in. Multiple pools to swim in and even a natural slide down one of the biggest falls. We really enjoyed our stay at Uvita and certainly would come back and stay at Bungalows Ballena again!

This is a great little place in the heart of Uvita. It’s a gated resort consisting of 5 bungalows, 4 with 2 bedrooms and 1 with one bedroom. It has the most well equipped kitchen of anywhere we have stayed in our 4 weeks in Costa Rica. It has a large fridge freezer and oven as well as a microwave and just about everything you would have in your own kitchen. Large comfy sofa too if one wanted to watch TV. Lovely swimming pool to relax in. Very helpful staff . Great place to stay

The room was very clean, had all the amenities one would need for a stay. Service was fantastic, including a free laundry service for an honest review. We wish we allocated more time here as it was comfortable & convenient. Pura Vida. Gracias

Bellena bungalows is amazing. Our favourite accommodation so far. We have our own cabina that is both spacious and clean. The kids love the pool (which has a slide) and we aren’t too far from the beach, which is pristine. Highly recommend for families with young kids.

This cabin-style small hotel is conveniently located in Uvita. It is a 5-7 minute walk to Maria Bellena National Park featuring Uvita Beach and the famous Whale’s Tail beach. Our cabin was very clean, large, and came with a good-sized kitchen and 2 bathrooms; it was comfortable for 4 adults. There is AC in every room. The beds are comfortable although pillows and furniture are a bit old. Despite a language barrier, the front desk staff were incredibly helpful. We were able to easily book a tour with them, and they were very flexible with the booking as we had to reschedule due to heavy rains. They even offered same-day laundry services in exchange for an unbiased review. During our 4-day stay, rooms were cleaned and towels refreshed once; I’m sure this could have been done more often if we had wanted. In addition to bath towels, beach and pool towels were also provided. The hotel pool was clean with plenty of available chairs. The property was quiet, safe and within walking distance of a few restaurants. Ubers were hard to find, but when available, were able to drive us 5-10 minutes away to even more restaurant options. Overall, this is a safe, clean, low-frills hotel but an excellent value with great service.

The bungalow was spotless and the staff were incredibly helpful. It feels like a home away from home. The pool is very nice and a great place to relax after a day of exploring. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Uvita. Would be perfect for kids too.
