Just got back from a stay here, two adults and two children staying for two nights. There were pros and cons, but when you consider the price, it’s quite clearly deserving of a five star review. PROS: -Cost. We paid £115 for two nights, plus £11 per adult per night for the all-you-can-eat breakfast (kids ate free). I just don’t think it gets better than that for what we got. The breakfast was decent and not overpriced when you consider that the kids ate free. -Room. Decent size, both kids beds already made up when we arrived. Basic but clean and comfortable. Everything worked as it should (bathroom, TV, air con). No complaints here. -Location. Literally opposite the tube station. Right next to lots of shops and food options including Wendy’s and Chipotle which we don’t have in Bristol! -Parking. The hotel doesn’t have parking but you can park in The Chimes shopping centre 5 minutes walk away. We paid around £55 for 2 and a half days which I think is generally the going rate for the London area. No doubt I could have got it cheaper by moving the car about onto side streets etc, but you’re also paying for the convenience. I also had the impression that it was a well lit, safe and secure car park, which was a concern when I was trying to decide which Premier Inn to stay at before settling on this one. CONS: -Location. It’s a positive and negative to be honest. Yes, we were right near the tube and a shopping centre and food options, but going into central London was 45 minutes to Baker Street (I timed it). With younger children, and doing this every day there and back on top of sightseeing in central London itself, it did feel a bit long… it would have been nice if the journey was half as long. However, if it were, the hotel would probably have cost more and the parking would have been harder, the tube station may have been further away from the hotel, etc. So it’s a compromise. For me, it was worth it and outweighed by the benefits above. But I have to mention it to give a fully rounded review! Overall, it was a solid choice and very cost effective, so I wouldn’t hesitate to give it a 5 rating.
