We were fortunate enough to spend a couple of nights here in our driving holiday. A family run small hotel in an exceptional setting Fabulous and informative tour of the winery by the owners daughter who took time and were to explain everything about port production to us. Followed by tastings The small pool was welcome in the heat and we spent a few hours lounging beside it just views

This place is absolutely splendid – a true little oasis of peace and serenity in the middle of the breathtaking Douro Valley. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and kindness by the incredibly friendly and hospitable staff. The entire property is spotless – everything is impeccably clean and well maintained, which made our stay even more relaxing and comfortable. The food was another highlight: delicious, fresh, and full of flavor, truly reflecting the richness of the local cuisine. If you're looking for a tranquil escape with outstanding service and authentic charm, this is the perfect destination. Highly recommended!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Quinta do Silval - the location and views are stunning, you are surrounded by vineyards rolling down into the Pinhao and Douro valleys. It is quite remote (and don't trust google maps, it might take you off road) but only 15 minutes down to Pinhao, where we enjoyed a lovely boat ride and more amazing views along the way. The small family run hotel is friendly and comfortable. A good buffet breakfast is provided with fresh orange juice and hot options. Pre-arranged dinner is available from a limited menu - simple, hearty options, such as sea bass - and snacks/drinks are available on request during the day. The pool is a real bonus - stunning setting overlooking the hills. Would definitely recommend this Quinta for a relaxing, peaceful stay (but if you are looking for life, action and proximity to amenities, this is not it!)

A family run wonderful hotel that has its own vineyards, & port/wine making facilities. Spectacular views and the hotel is clean, friendly, lovely food & the whole set up is run with a passion! Explicit tour & tasting session - highly recommend it!! Great experience

Beautiful location! With stunning views! Very friendly staff. We had a tour of the vineyard along with a wine tasting which was very informative and full of passion. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed. The food and accompanying wine were nice. Highly recommended!

The location is very restful and pretty, and the facilities are very high quality. However, think of this as more like a family B&B than a hotel. Dinner menus aren’t written down, cuisine is homely and limited options for vegetarians. Things are a little chaotic and even a bit comedic in a Fawlty Towers kind of way. Staff are very friendly and keen to please but they would benefit from more staff to make things run more smoothly.

Last minute booking. Alles prima in orde. Plaats om tot rust te komen. Er hangt een fijne sfeer over heel het domein. Heel vriendelijk personeel. Huisgemaakte witte wijn gedronken, deze was lekker. Echt familiebedrijf. Kamers netjes en verzorgd. Ontbijt was eenvoudig maar lekker. Een aanrader!

Excellent place to stay. I can't rate this small hotel highly enough. Friendly and efficient service , fabulous food and wine and very comfortable and clean rooms and beds. The views from the hotel and terrace are spectacular over the Douro valley. We will return.
