We managed to get a mooring when another boat kindly moved up but part of the mooring is crumbling. There was a limited selection of real ales but the Butcombe Rare Breed was nice. The food ( a burger & an aubergine dish) was nice. Ellie Our waitress in the tipi was very helpful

Lovely lunch in comfortable and relaxing surroundings. A fab start to our short break. Was a bit late as travelled from a distance away and got held up in Swindon but no problem to hosts. Plenty of choice on the menu and reasonable cost. Would be even nicer in the Spring or Summer!

First rate accommodation and dining in a quiet, rural setting. Bedroom excellently appointed, spotlessly clean and most comfortable. As with the Butcombe Hotels design the rooms are wonderfully muted, lovely fabrics and a colour swathe that ensures a decent nights sleep. Both dinner and breakfast first class.

The pub was warm on a cold day. The decor and furnishings new and the welcome was delightful.I was encouraged to sign up for the loyalty scheme which was offering a decent 25% saving that day. The food was top class pub fare but the menu for the main courses quite limited. You know a burger, fish chips etc.I suspect much of this is dictated by Butcombe the pub chain. A decent range of beers ,an ok wine list complemented the fare. Service was spot on.

It isn't often I take the time to write a review just for a meal out but on this occasion I wanted to take the time to tell other people about this little gem. Situated just outside Faringdon and not far from the picturesque and famous village of Bampton ( the village setting for Downton Abbey). We met up with friends and had a wonderfully relaxed, delicious lunch in warm, comfortable surroundings with a burning log fire. Dan and Faye went out of their way to look after us and couldn't have been more accommodating. How nice to find such friendly, happy and helpful staff. Never a given these days! You can join their loyalty scheme for free and get 25% off all food on a Wednesday so that was a bonus too. 4 main courses, 4 puddings, coffee, 3 beers and even a winterberry Kia Royale came to £90 on this deal for the 4 of us. Incredible value. Everything was great and we shall certainly be returning again or to another of their sister pubs. Hopefully on a Wednesday so we can get the deal! Again many thanks Dan and Faye for making it such an enjoyable day. Butcombe Pubs & Inns are very lucky to have you.

Fabulous stay here. Rooms recently refurbished to a high standard. Beds super comfy and shower amazing! Food in the pub was great too; had dinner and breakfast there. Cost pub with good fires. Staff were attentive and the manager was always there to oversee and check on guests. Great location for walking weekend or just mooching around the nearby villages. Would love to return in the summer to dine in the teepee!

Warm welcome. Lovely room. Delicious food and excellent value for money. This pub is in a lovely location right by the Thames. Our Butcombe Loyalty card got us an excellent deal, too. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had.
