Housed in a 17th century castle with well-kept gardens, this guest house is located in the Verdon Regional Park, 984 ft walk from the center of the village of Valensole (where 4 restaurants are at your disposal). Breakfasts, carefully prepared by the hostess (included in the price of the rooms) are served from 8am to 10am in the reception room on the ground floor. The rooms, decorated with period furniture, are spread between the 2nd and 3rd floors with a comfortable staircase (No elevator as a warning for people with reduced mobility). Also no television, this in order to escape the pressures of the modern world, thus allowing you to better soak up the poetry of this place full of history. You don't come here just to sleep but also to dream.
Each room is individually decorated and offers a view of the garden. Some also have a terrace or a fireplace. The private bathroom has a shower, sink, toilet and hairdryer.
You have a free and secure private parking space on site (access code). Finally, the unmissable Verdon Gorges (the largest canyon in Europe) are located 18 mi away (picturesque village of Moustiers-Sainte-Marie).

It's a privilege to spend a night in this beautiful chateau. The owner and host, M. Glory, is welcoming, charming, and rightly proud of the provenance of his lovely home and garden, which he clearly loves to share. Steeped in history and absolutely authentic. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable, and all the modern requirements were met, Breakfast was home made and generous. A delightful place.

We were guests of this structure for one night, passing through Valensole. The structure on the outside is well kept and makes its scene, which cannot be said of the inside. The rooms are in classic style, in line with the context in which they are inserted, although there is a total lack of attention to detail. Cleaning should be paid more attention, especially in the rooms (providing courtesy set, unopened toilet paper and eliminating spiders from the ceiling). Breakfast should be improved and expanded. Homemade cakes are a plus, only if well made. Otherwise it is better to offer a simple croissant. For €140 per night (invoiced?) I believe that the service offered is not sufficient. Positive notes: the kindness of the owners (or managers).

La nostra esperienza è stata positiva, la colazione molto buona, tutto fatto in casa. La signora è gentilissima. Non c’è aria condizionata ma non serve perché la stanza è freschissima. N.B. Durante il nostro soggiorno si sono raggiunti i 37* Andrebbero forse un po’ rinfrescate le pareti, ma a noi questa struttura è piaciuta!

Nous avons passé une nuit dans la suite Louise de Savoie. Dès l’entrée dans le château nous avons été saisis par la magie de ce lieu. La qualité de la restauration, la beauté et la richesse de l’ameublement sont tout simplement stupéfiantes et vous plongent dans l’histoire du bâtiment… et dans l’Histoire tout court. A écouter notre hôte, nous comprenons toute la passion qu’il a consacrée à la renaissance et l’entretien de ce lieu (et certainement beaucoup de sous). Tout ça donne une ambiance très particulière dans laquelle nous avons baigné avec bonheur ! J’avais été un peu surpris par les réponses aux clients ayant porté un avis négatif mais je les comprends mieux après notre séjour. Je pense qu’il doit être un peu difficile de se voir reprocher qu’il n’y a ni télé ni ascenseur quand on s’efforce de proposer un séjour hors du temps dans un cadre qui s’y prête aussi bien. Accessoirement la suite est superbe avec sa terrasse, la literie excellente et le petit-déjeuner très bon et copieux avec pâtisseries maison. Merci et bravo de faire vivre un tel lieu. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir.
