This wasn’t the hotel we thought we were booking a room at online, but we are happy we did. This certainly is not the romantic castle the TripAdvisor shows you. This is a quaint mid-century hotel along a romantic stream. In the room you will find a small book written by the owner of his various trials and tribulations refurbishing and getting the hotel into service. His story telling is highly entertaining. The room was small but functional, overlooking the stream that runs alongside the property. In decent weather there is a couple of outdoor areas where you can enjoy a fire in the fire pit, share a drink, or just enjoy relaxing by the stream. The Italian restaurant just 50m away is closed on Tuesday so we drove into the village and enjoyed dinner at one of the local brasseries. After that we returned to the hotel and joined some of the other guests in the bar/breakfast room and socialized with each other while sipping wine or beer. A young lady, who I think was also a guest, played the piano for a while. Another couple played checkers while we spent most of our time talking with the evenings host. This is what we really enjoy most out of travelling. Meeting new people and having an enjoyable conversation. There is a TV in the common room but not the guest rooms. And I think that is a ‘Good thing’. Yeah, we enjoyed the stay.

From the moment you walk in, you feel like you are a lord/lady of the castle in this hotel, which is located in a real castle. The welcome from the real lord of the castle is very warm. Everything is possible, nothing is required - very relaxed everything. We had reserved a four-person room. Usually there is little room to move around, but this room looked like the old dance hall: what a wonderful space. With a bath/shower that you had to walk into via a small staircase. Great! The breakfast was also more than fine. All in all a wonderful hotel if you want to spoil yourself. Of course it comes with a price tag

Well located hotel within walking distance of Valkenburg. To the center of Valkenburg you will have to walk 2.5 km along a very nice walking path along the river Geul. The room and bathroom are basic but has a good bed. The restaurant in the evening is definitely worth it, for the delicious culinary food alone you would come here!

Op een heerlijk rustige en mooie plek direct aan de Geul ligt dit charmante kleine hotel-restaurant. Een zeer gastvrij echtpaar runt het hotel op een geweldig vriendelijke wijze. Het restaurant biedt een bescheiden kaart maar wat er gekookt wordt is heerlijk en zeer betaalbaar. Een absolute aanrader!

Door het gekabbel van de rivier en het gezang van de vogels kom je helemaal tot rust. Host Oksana is ontzettend warm en vriendelijk. Fijne, schone kamer, wel een beetje gehorig maar dat stoorde me niet. Het restaurant was helaas dicht toen ik er was (woensdag t/m zondag geopend), dus moet nog maar eens terugkomen. Wat een fijne, lieflijke plek!

Wat een pareltje is dit hotel en restaurant! Authentiek kleinschalig hotel op een mooie locatie langs de Geul. Heerlijk geslapen in mooie schone kamer. Beetje gehorig, maar zeker niet storend. Het allerbeste was het restaurant. Interessante gerechten en smaken, bovengemiddeld goed. De jonge kok komt zelf het eten uitserveren en toelichten. Hulde, hulde. Wij komen zeker een keer terug en raden het iedereen aan.

Erg fijn hotel gelegen op zeer mooie lokatie in het pittoreske Schin Op Geul. Goede bedden en prima sanitair. We misten wel een TV maar deze zou zomaar voor geluidsoverlast kunnen zorgen aangezien het hotel wat gehorig is. Eetgelegenheid is werkelijk fantastisch ingericht en het ontbijt zeer smakelijk.

Hotel Geulzicht heeft een nieuw restaurant, en dat is van een wereld klasse! Wij namen de Carpaccio met oosterse twist, gekonfijte eendebout en tonijn als nagetecht hazelnoot mousse met sabionschuim!! Alles een dikke tien! De chef kwam bij het opdienen aan tafel om uitleg te geven. Je hebt hier echt het gevoel van Gast zijn! Grote klasse, Michelin waardig! Voor een zeer betaalbare prijs
