Boutique Hotel Scheepers

We booked this accommodation for two nights. However, due to several complaints, we had to leave the hotel early after one night. Contrary to the hotel or room description, we could only reach the room via a steep wooden staircase, which was very difficult. There was therefore no elevator - even if this is mentioned in the description. When we entered our room, we were already greeted by an acrid toilet smell. This got even worse when we opened the bathroom door. We criticized this directly. We then left the hotel because we were going to a concert. We were also informed that the hotel is fully booked and therefore no room change is possible. When we got back to our room we noticed that the room had now been sprayed with room spray. The stench was still noticeable subtly and became bad again over time. Unfortunately, we got a headache due to the strong room spray smell, which was very unpleasant even with the window open. We spent the first night in the hotel room, but it was very tiring because of the smell. Furthermore, the entire room was very dirty and dusty. The tiles in the bathroom and the floor were very dirty. There were substances stuck to the walls that we didn't look at further. You also didn't want to touch the toilet brush. It was an old attic room, which is definitely not suitable for a pleasant hotel stay. It felt like we had been placed in an “emergency room.” In addition, contrary to the room description, there was no coffee available in the room. The only thing that was really okay was the breakfast. Because of all these unpleasant things, we checked out immediately after the first night. Since the lady at reception, who made a really friendly and hard-working impression, was not authorized to accommodate us in terms of price, she assured us that her boss would contact us to find an appropriate solution . This has not happened so far. So we contacted ************ support. Hotel Scheepers denies everything and communicated to ************ that we are lying. The pictures of the room definitely show something different. This is the worst experience I have ever had with a hotel. I cannot recommend this accommodation at all.

We had booked on ***********, but I soon received a call that I had to cancel and that it would be done through the hotel itself, all conditions would then expire, but they did not say that. Upon arrival the receptionist was extremely rude. She didn't ask for anything, but she gave an order, or at least that's how it came across to all of us. This unpleasant experience at reception dominated the first hour after arrival. The room had a sewage smell. Extremely foul fecal odor. The room is relatively small and you pay a lot for it. It was New Year's Day, no one from the staff to wish you well. Only at breakfast we were asked snidely: 'room number?' In short: our New Year's Eve has a bitter aftertaste this year.
