We loved Shiva Ganges . Amazing location right on the Ganges , walking distance to major sites . The owner & staff created a beautiful peaceful haven that was s joy to return to after the busy attractions & lanes & market We loved our time here , the food cooked fresh to orderwas fabulous

A warm and kind home stay. Ideally located, comfortable, and well kept. The proprietors were helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was comforting, the chai excellent and the view from the rooftop superb. Right by the river. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, the guesthouse did not receive our emails notifying a change of flight times. Their inability to process this communication sent to them meant their transport/ taxi didn’t show up resulting in a very stressful travel to this accommodation. This said, our second storey room with a large balcony, was nicely situated directly above the Ganges river. Service was overall pleasant and we enjoyed some lovely food there. Servicing of the room occurred only once for our three night stay. On checkout however, management insisted on cash for final payment which included the cost of the taxi back to the airport at almost double the normal rate. This extra cost was blamed on the Mela festival.

Love the staff here. They were all so friendly and helpful. 5 stars for them! And the food is delicious. Be sure to have dinner here. Excellent. I’m giving them 4 stars because I asked for a room with a view and we got a ground floor room with no view. I understand someone needs to take those two rooms but we were told we’d get a upper floor…we did have a wonderful king bed. This is a typical India guesthouse with the usual bathroom as a shower thing, Great location right on the ghats. Be sure to have the chai from the chai walla at the bottom of the stairs. The Best. Book a tour with Kanesh (?) a very good guide.

We stayed two nights at the Shiva Ganges View, a charming hotel with an excellent location right on the Ganges. We asked the hotel to pick us up at the airport (850 rupees) and someone was waiting for us at the arrival gate with my name on a sign. He brought us to a street near the hotel and two employees were waiting for us to bring our luggage to the hotel, it was a 5 minute walk as it's not accessible by car. I wouldn't walk the streets on my own around the hotel as it's quite a labyrinth, but the gaths are easily accessible by walking ***** the river. Our deluxe room with Ganges view was 180 sq. ft. with a balcony and a very nice view over the Ganges. There was a coffee pot, but no safe to put our passports, ipads and so on. The bathroom was good, but the shower pressure was a bit weak. It was convenient to eat at their restaurant and the food was pretty good, but the service a little slow. They provide laundry service for the next day for 40 rupees by item. The hotel also likes to offer tours, but we already had ours booked with Viator. Overall a very nice stay!

Perhaps the hotel with the best view of the Ganges fron the hotel room/ terrace. One can walk to Kasi Vishwanath, the coridoor, Dashashwamedha ghat and most other ancient sites. Rooms are large and well appointed. Good people amiable service.
