Hotel Chateau Iveri

Nestled deep in the main Adjaran valley, this is an outstanding hotel, with levels of gastronomy, service and general sophistication significantly above average for the region. Ivari, his family and staff run a well-organised and attractive outfit and were very helpful to us not only during the stay, but also in helping to organise onward transport over the Godzeri pass. Particular strong points of the hotel include the food, the attractive restaurant and terrace, and of course the wine. Views across the valley are mesmerising, even if some of the noise from the quarrying activity below can detract during the day from an otherwise serene location. Overall though, this remains an extremely charming and restful place, and is perfect for travellers seeking something more refined than the typical local guesthouse or hotel offer. Rooms are smart, and the more expensive rooms are absolutely palatial. All in all, a fabulous hotel, thank you.

Chateau Iveri is the real deal. Right from the time we arrived, we felt welcomed and looked after. We found the setting to be quite tranquil with gorgeous views of surrounding hills and valleys. For much of the time we were happy just to sit on the terrace and take all this in. But the food was also remarkable and provided a subtle and gourmet take on local Adjaran cuisine. We sampled the Chateau's wines in an enjoyable tasting and really appreciated the wines made from local Adjaran grape varieties. We hope we will be back one day.
