Residenza Amblingh

Just a wonderful stay in Vasto. Unbelievable room and view of Adriatic. We had difficulty finding the paid parking garage (20 Euros/day), correct exit from it, and landmarks provided by hotel in the reservation. Called the staff and were met outside garage and walked to hotel. Well worth the small consternation. Room beautiful. Great location. Great staff. Highly highly recommended.

We were attending a first communion and our family here suggested we stay at this wonderful Residenza and they were 100% correct…this lovely property in this beautiful town was so special we will be back as soon as possible…everything from our first communique to checkout was fantastico…the property, our room, the views, the friendly and caring staff and the breakfast was the best ! This place is very special and Grazie to the staff and the owners who we had the pleasure to meet also…

We was delighted to have chosen this perfect little B&B in the heart of the stunning town of Vasto, with many restaurants and bars within walking distance. We was greeted by the lovely Francesco who was helpful and friendly and spoke excellent English. A very enjoyable stay despite the rainy unusual skies 😬 would definitely go back again

Well, you just couldn’t find a better location in Vasto than this: right along the scenic overlook in in the old city of Vasto, next to the Palazzo D’Avalos. This is a small property run by a genial, extremely attentive and detail-oriented host who tries to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The rooms are modern, well laid out and comfortable. We had the Palazzo D’Avalos suite, which overlooks the palace itself and affords great sea views. Very nice. The sunny breakfast room on the 2nd floor has its own wonderful view up and down the coast. Given it’s location, the entire centro storico lies literally at your feet. A great walking town. Two caveats: 1.) Parking—The B & B sits in a lovely area pedonale, which is a ZTL. Best parking is in a covered (paid) lot about 6-7 minutes away by foot, on Via Garibaldi. FYI. The walk with rollaboard suitcases is level and over smooth cobblestones, until the last few yards. 2.) The entrance—is somewhat obscured behind the restaurant underneath the B & B. We couldn’t find it, and when we called the proprietor to let us in, he insisted we watch the video link he sent us in a reservation confirmation note. (We never received this video, so he had to come retrieve us.) So if make a reservation, be sure to watch the video beforehand. In every other respect this was a real find, in a city that’s a small gem.

My wife and I chose to stay in Vasto simply because we needed a break from travelling and being constantly on the move. Vasto was ideally located for our future plans and Residenza Amblingh was a great find. We chose our room online because it claimed to have a view. And what a view it had! Residenza Amblingh is located in the old town of Vasto on the hill overlooking a long stretch of Italian coastline. With a blue sky and the sun shinning the view is outstanding, and in the morning the sunrise is spectacular. Our room was spotlessly clean with a bathroom/shower separated neatly from the bed and living space. The heating / air conditioning was great and there is a minibar fridge in the room, along with a kettle and tea/coffee. The reception is only staffed at specific times during the day, though there is house keeping every day. Breakfast is held in the loft, which also has a stunning view across the ocean. In summer this place would be very popular. All the staff we met were friendly and the manager of the B&B very helpful indeed with suggestions about dinner locations. If you provide the B&B with notice they will cater for dietary needs (Celiac in my case) when organising your breakfast. You need to be aware, if arriving by car, the B&B is located in a ‘no vehicle’ area, so it is an easy 10 minute walk from the secure public carpark to Residenza Amblingh.

This B&B is a beautiful, interesting, very clean, very guest-oriented option. It's worth every penny. The staff is polite and thorough, as is everything about the hotel. As noted by others, the breakfast is outstanding as well. The location is fantastic. We've stayed more than once and will continue to do so. My only caution is that it is not for those who have problems with mobility, as it is a very, very old part of town and requires walking from a city parking garage and the ability to climb steps and stairs.
