It is impossible to overstate how wonderful and perfect are both the rooms and the restaurant. Just superb in every detail with a wonderful staff team led by Romain and Delphine Barthe. And the view over the rolling hills of Beaujolais from the breakfast room is sublime. And the whole experience is greatly enhanced by having read 'Clochmerle' prior to arriving in the village. We were lucky enough to have checked in on St Valentine Day, when Romain had developed a special menu, accompanied by wines chosen by Delphine. It was an experience for all the senses. Just wonderful. The rooms are appointed to a level that one would expect from an establishment with such high standards. A place in which every guest is made to feel special and welcomes. We will definitely be back.

This review covers the hotel rather than the restaurant, for which I have written a separate review. The hotel itself is excellent. We had two separate rooms and both were excellent. The standard is good and we had a good sleep. The breakfast is excellent. All very fresh and comprehensive. The breakfast room overlooking the vineyards gets off your day to a lovely start and the white chocolate mouse is just wonderful.

The Auberge has comfortable modern rooms and an amazing restaurant. Dinner was a delight to the eye and every dish was amazing. It is worth the short detour off the motorway when travelling south to the Mediterranean. The attention to detail and wonderful staff make this a fantastic experience

A well thought out blend of accommodation and dinning in a region with a lot to see and do. The staff go about their duties with a reserved efficiency. The food is of a very high standard with regard to the customers likes as well as what is in season. Our stay was memorable.

The rooms are lovely. The meal was delicious. Be sure to find out what drinks are included and their price. We were given a sparkling wine drink we thought was complimentary, if we did not like and it cost us 12 euros each. Explanations in English were a bit lacking. There is very little in the town.

Our highest recommendation for the Auberge de Clochemerle. We were taken care of with the utmost consideration and thoughtfulness. The restaurant is superb, with impeccable service, and a beautiful pairing of the food and wine.

Great food, great service, great location. The restaurant is first class and a good reason alone for a visit. The rest of the package also measures up and the quaint, quirky village is fun. We certainly will book again if we are in the area.
