Arrived around 3.40 pm on Friday, very impressed, nice clean room, everything we needed was there. Breki was simply amazing, full compliments to the chef, also the lady who owned the guest house spent time talking to us and other guest, she’s 84 wow 84 and continues to graft everyday fair play also would like to mention the lady who served us breki, very pleasant also had plenty of time to talk to us, glad you liked my wife’s ring 👌 We will be returning here again, can’t compliment the stay enough, definite a hidden gem👌

We are so glad that we chose to stay at Studios at Glenthorne for our recent weekend across and exploring the Brecon Beacons. Outstanding and quality are the first two words that come to mind describing our stay and the overall experience and were evident in every aspect. Claire provides studio rooms that are of the highest quality in every way. Spotlessly clean, spacious, fully equipped and every last detail thought of - as you enjoy your stay, you keep finding things that Claire has thought about and included. All fittings and fixtures were like new, super comfortable bed, modern kitchen and bathroom, plenty of hot water. Then add in freshly made Welsh Cakes (the best we tasted in Wales), vase with fresh flowers, water and milk, high quality toiletries, luxury linen and towels, USB charging power points, plenty of mirrors, great heating and ventilation, washer/dryer, simple but effective approach to recycling and waste - all complemented by fantastic communication (both pre-stay, on day of arrival and throughout) and the warmest of Welsh welcomes. We were travelling with bikes and Claire provided a great solution to make sure that they were stored safely - if travelling with bikes, we recommend getting in touch with Claire in advance. As others have noted, there is no parking directly on site, but ample in the adjacent street(s), so this should not be a factor in deciding to stay or not. Location wise, we were in the heart of the Brecon Beacons within 15 minutes drive, and managed an amazing 4 hour/70km cycle starting and finishing at Glenthorne. Some supermarkets are a short drive away as well. We cannot recommend Studios at Glenthorne highly enough. We very much want to return and suggest if you are looking for a location in Merthyr Tydfil for exploring the Brecon Beacons, that you look no further. Hey, so I stayed at this hotel for a few nights, three nights to be specific, and it was probably one of the best hotels to stay in if you're visiting Brecon Beacons National Park in south wales. The staff was very friendly and they were accommodating. We had a room on the other side of the hotel where the Internet or Wi-Fi was not great. They moved our room temperature area with good wifi. I liked the room. It was big enough for two people with a single bed. The breakfast was good, and they served you an excellent Welsh breakfast. It could have improved but I think overall, it’s okay. Finally, the hotel is a bit aged but it has a good vibe and a good feeling for the area that it’s not all modern, so I like they’re keeping the old tradition in there. Finally if you are using Vodafone there is no Mobile phone reception at the hotel but I think they told that EE works. .🤓
