This is a converted chateau located on the Dordogne River in Vezac. It has old world charm with all the modern conveniences. Each room is different, so it is hard to make comparisons. The room we had was very spacious with a balcony overlooking the river. It had a fabulous bathroom with shower and tub. The owner was extremely gracious and cordial and prepared the most spectacular breakfasts.

It was amazing and I would come back just for breakfast, but it was so much more than that with amazing views and beautiful scenery. We loved the location as well with it close by to all the beautiful towns. The service was amazing as well! Many thanks to Ouafaa!

We have just returned from a fantastic week staying at Chateau de la Malartrie. The property is as beautiful as it looks in the photos. The inside is better than the photos suggest. The bedrooms are all very comfortable with great bathrooms and comfortable beds. The kitchen is very well equiped with decent equipment for cooking, we had 16 people staying and had no problems catering for this number. There are nice restaurants and shops a short walk away and canoeing on your door step. The hosts are very helpul as is the catertaker. I am sure we will come back one day.

This is the place to stay in the Dordogne region. Overlooking the Dordogne River, the rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable. The grounds are gorgeous, with a lovely pool and garden retreats for quiet relaxation. The owner is gracious and friendly, always available to help, make dinner reservations, or suggest places to visit. She's also an amazing cook. Her breakfasts have spoiled us forever! Five stars from start to finish, and exactly to our liking. Merci!

La Malartrie fully deserves the 5.0 rating on TripAdvisor. The location is terrific, in Vézac, but a 10 minute walk from La Roque de Cageac, one of the most beautiful villages in France, probably somewhere at the top of that official designation. The town has many restaurants. There Manoir is located at a short drive from many of the most famous sites in the Dordogne, including Lascaux, Jardin de Marqueyssac, the medieval castles of Castlenaud and Beynac-Et-Cazenac, Josehine Bakers castle Milandes, and other Plus Beaux Villages such as Domme and at. Leon sur Vezere. The Manoir is wedged between the Dordogne River and the cliff carved out by the river. The cliff causes a subtropical microclimate because of its exposure to the sun by day. The grounds of la Malartrie are gorgeous, with several terraces, flowers, large rock boulders, lounging chairs and a pool. The building is classic, with a large room for breakfast. We stayed outside of the main building, in one of the suites that has a lot of privacy, with a kitchen, living room and bedroom. The suite was elegantly furnished, clean, and overlooked the grounds and the Dordogne River. While all this is ample reason for a five star review, Wafa and her husband make a stay at the Malartrie special. No effort is too much to make guests feel comfortable and at home. The breakfast has an astonishing selection of cheeses, cakes, breads, dried and fresh fruits, cereals and eggs made to order. We looked forward to breakfast every day. If we come back to the Dordogne again, we’ll surely stay at La Malartrie again. It’s simply the best.

Manoir De La Malartrie was recommended to us by friends who had stayed there the year before. We were in France for two weeks in May 2024. We stayed in several very nice hotels. By far, this was the very best place. You are staying on the river. It is it very quick 3 to 5 minute walk into town on a dedicated pedestrian path.Manoir De La Malartrie Is a beautiful bed-and-breakfast, full of history, but also having all the modern amenities you will need. The rooms are large and spacious, the bathrooms, all very modern. Very quiet at night, soundproof. Our hostess,Ouaffa , pronounced “Waffa”, is one of the nicest people I have ever met in the travel industry. She is so kind and welcoming. we were lucky enough to eat at many fine restaurants in Paris, however, in our two weeks stay in France, Nothing could compare to her breakfast every morning. It was the most amazing meal I have ever had. I looked forward to breakfast every morning there. For me, I love traveling to France, everyone so nice, my next visit, Manoir De La Malartrie is a must destination. We highly recommend !! PS they have a washer and dryer on site, a nice touch for the traveler

Our favorite place to stay in France along the Dordogne River. Beautiful room overlooking the river just across the road. Beautiful gardens! The most impressive breakfast we had in France. The hostess, Ouaffa, was so friendly and helpful.

This B&B “Manoir de la Malartrie” is so beautiful I felt like I was back in time, yet I had the joy of experiencing modern life. The delightful service of the owner, Ouaffa (pronounced Wafa), will make your experience comfortable and memorable.
