Hotel Allon Mediterrania

We are just back from a week staying at this hotel. It’s got some really good points, very clean, nice beach front perspective, pool, friendly staff and ideal for a relaxing few days. However there are a few things that would make me give it 5 stars ….lack of plugs next to bed for charging phones etc. had to use a lamp plug socket at the one end of the room near to the balcony. We had to time the charging of devices as limited sockets etc so I’d take a multi charger on a long lead if you want it next to bed. No kettle or drink making facilities but we did ask reception for one and they found us one but took 2 days. Toiletries in bathroom great but the plungers very probably on last legs and so dispensed little at a time. Shower was odd looked like it had been upgraded recently but took a while to fathom. The heated towel rail in the bathroom was useful to warm up the apartment. TV was bad only 1 UK channel and was small for room and not at the end of the bed so looked a little out of place. The food was not the best we’ve had dinner didn’t open until 8pm and then even at 8pm was warm as if had been ready and waiting for the guests. I’m sure a 7 or 7.30pm start would have been possible. Wed booked half board but ate out a lot as there are some fabulous restaurants along the sea front. However, breakfast was decent plenty of choice so can’t grumble there Overall with some small improvements this could be 5 stars

Although the hotel is in a prime location, was spotlessly clean and tidy and the staff (mostly) are very helpful and friendly, it needs a major overhaul in the following areas: we arrived between 12 & 1, were greeted by the very cheerful receptionist Philipe, and were told that the room would be ready in 15 minutes, maybe less. We thought OK, let’s get a coffee while we wait. Bar not open, and nowhere to get a drink of any kind! Come on guys, that’s the least that should be available. Room was ready in about 10 minutes, great, it’s a good sized and well appointed room, with a fab view over the beach - but no tea or coffee facilities, and only 1 available socket for phone charging! The restaurant was the worst we’ve been to in a long time, buffet ‘hot’ food was warm at best, and looked like it had been put out at least an hour before anyone arrived. The same for breakfast. Coffee machine served powdered milk, so fortunately there was fresh milk and a microwave to make a decent coffee. At least the hot water was ok for making tea. Would be best to scrap the idea of hot buffet, and cook to order off a smaller menu. At least it might be hot when it’s served. I’m sure the bacon & sausage at breakfast was the same from the previous days just ‘warmed up a bit’. The Allon Mediterrania has the potential to be a 4* hotel, but not unless the owners or management sort out what should be very basic ‘customer care’.

clean spacious rooms with lovely view, reception team always helpful and polite, few little things stopped me giving this hotel full marks, each morning at breakfast we had to ask for more bread, often the omlette person was not there so stood there waiting, one morning we gave up, there only ever a few bits of bacon in the bottom of a very oily pan. Parking at 18 euro per night is a lot if staying for more than a couple of nights, maybe a discount could be offered, there is totally free parking at the end of the road which we used and just paid one night parking as we had an early flight, We could not get coffee in the evening as they cleaned the machine before the bar closed at 11pm, we like a cup of coffee to take to bed, tea and coffee making facility in the room would have been wonderful. These are just a couple of little things but we had a lovely stay and will be booking again, also make sure you book with the hotel direct you get a better price than if you use a third party.

Hotel basic,food well below average,lounge bar closed, no tea coffee in room,sun loungers well passed best. The rooms were very clean and well serviced, staff were very good. This is not a 4 star hotel, but it is in a beautiful location an worthy of good hotel and associated services

Stayed as part of Estación Inglesa (EI) conversational English course. Excellent location. Beautifully-kept hotel. Food very nice. Everything ran seamlessly. Thanks to Maria and Elle of EI and also to the hotel staff. We very much enjoyed our stay and would be delighted to return.

This place is in a fabulous location right on the beach. Spacious rooms which are basic but clean and all have balconies overlooking the sea. Pool is great. Not many beds but the beach is so close if it's busy. Breakfast is decent and self service so plenty of it.
