This hotel canceled my booking, which I had made several weeks earlier through *******, three (!) days before arrival, WITHOUT any explanation and without contacting me. I only received a short email from ******* stating that the hotel refused to process the booking (without explanation). Shortly before Easter, without a hotel reservation, I had to negotiate for three hours with *******'s hotline (in English) to get another hotel (it worked out and was quite nice, but far from Villanders and inconveniently located for us). I have (thankfully) never experienced anything so outrageous in my many decades of traveling. Since the hotel didn't care about my arrival, I also didn't care about their newsletter, which they constantly send me. Even my unsubscription from the newsletter was ignored. Quite creepy and more of a case for consumer protection. We stayed at this hotel many years ago, before the redesign. It was pleasant back then, but now it seems a bit "out of touch." Based on my experience above, I strongly advise against booking via online services, unless you like thrills and are fluent in English ;-)
