Excellent stay at LE VAUBAN in Villefranche sur mer. Very clean and comfortable. Vallerie is very helpful and friendly. (Ask about the garden shortcut) . This hotel is a perfect location as the buses are excellent.. They leave from Octroi stop 50 yards away opposite the Tourist Information. Bus 15 goes to Nice every 20 minutes. Bus 607 to Monaco every 30 minutes. The hop on hop off red bus for Nice also stops here. You need to download the bus Lignes d'Azur app and can purchase tickets on there. To return to Nice Airport take Bus 15 to Port Lympia ( Nice Port) and from there get the tram to Aeroport. All for €5 euros. Very easy and convenient. The train station is a 15 minute walk and is a bit steep in places. Villefranche is a wonderful base.

At first glance I wasn’t sure but this hotel really has its priorities right. The bed was huge and so comfortable. And I mean really comfortable! The pillows fluffy and the linen crisp and white. The bathroom is equipped with a fabulous drencher shower. And the piece de resistance the balcony and view out to sea perfect for lazy breakfasts, afternoons with your book or evenings watching the sun set. Checkin was east and staff friendly and responsive. There’s ample parking around the streets or 2 car parks within a minute’s walk. Patisserie with fresh coffee and veg shop 2 minutes away. A few streets back from the sea front so away from the noise but less than a 5 minute walk from all the shops and seafront restaurants. We loved it. Thank you.

Small hotel with clean rooms overlooking the garden. The hotel is located near the bus stop leading to Nice and Monaco. I stayed for a month for work, the lady who manages the hotel is very kind and very helpful, she made me feel at home. Thanks from Monica

Very small room with dirty windows with burgundy curtains half torn from their seats... bathroom without windows with floor as a shower surface with risk of slipping because the water is only held back by a plastic curtain. We stayed for two nights as originally indicated booking with Volagratis. The slightly indecent breakfast for two at 24 euros!..everything left without care. The room that was made up for us on the second day was worse than the one left in the morning when we left. I attach photos because at 150 euros a night for just sleeping it is really a steal. Not recommended

We stayed for just one night in a very large ground floor room, with a double bed and a French bed for our son. Particular location, close to both the center and the sea (a short but pleasant walk required). We didn't have breakfast so I can't leave a review about it, but nearby there was both a bar and a bakery where we got croissants. Value for money we were only a little disappointed by the absence of small things that are always present in Italy such as the classic kits in the bathroom (headphones, etc..); no safe, no minibar, and above all there was no one at the reception from lunch time onwards, so we had some difficulties not having anyone we could ask in case of need. Having said that, however, the stay was pleasant and the town deserves a lot especially for the wonderful sea!
