Welcome Hotel Täsch by Täscherhof

We reserved a room at this hotel for a night in July, 2019. On the way from Interlaken, we got stuck in a severe traffic jam at Lotschberg Tunnel, Kandersteg. However, the last check in time at this hotel is 8;30 PM, and as a result of the traffic congestion, we could not reach in time. We informed the hotel management about this, and he told us with a rude voice to stay at some other place, although he charged us full for that night. We somehow managed to book another hotel that night, obviously with higher price. Later we called the management again about this whole inconvenience, and he refused to compensate any amount. With the given inconvenient check in time (8:30 PM and not later), and the rude management, we suggest fellow travelers to avoid this hotel. Thank you!
Hotel Porta Cervino

It was a pleasant stay overall with a nice view, quiet room, and clean facility, except for the broken shower head. We informed them immediately, but the hotel told us that it would be fixed on the next day.

The visp city is very small, and I didn't expect that it would be so difficult to book a hotel temporarily...I got a hotel anyway. Quite old feeling, especially the elevator...it was not used at the beginning. Under the guidance of another guest, I realized that the door must be pulled in and out, and the door will not open automatically (˶‾᷄ ⁻̫ ‾᷅˵) Others are not bad, very clean.
Hotel la Reserve
4.3/537 Reviews
I stayed at La Reserve for two nights during my hike from Chamonix to Zermatt (Walkers Haute Route). After more than a week of hiking and camping with my tent, this hotel provided food, rest and comfort, before I would take off for the final hike to Zermatt. The hotel is directly on the hiking route, just out of the village center. The owner was very helpful when I wanted to reschedule my stay. I had booked for one night, but I was hiking faster than expected, so I arrived one day early. After a phone call the owner booked me another room where I could stay an extra night. When I left two days later, I asked for a very early breakfast (I wanted to hike as early as possible) and the owner made sure everything was there for me at 6:30 a.m. The food at the restaurant was delicious. I was very happy with the possibility of having a smaller pizza with a much larger salad, as I was craving for fresh vegetables. Breakfast was in serve-yourself style, with fresh bread, cheese, eggs, yoghurt. The building and room might be somewhat outdated in style, but everything was very clean and comfortable. And there was a very good private shower! All in all this was a very pleasant stay while hiking my 10 day hike in Switzerland.
Hotel Heimatlodge
4.2/533 Reviews
This is a hotel next to Niglous station. Get off the bus it takes 3 minutes to get there. People here are really very friendly. As soon as we got off the train, there was a bus driver who took the initiative to stop and tell us the direction of the hotel. Since we went back very late, the self-check-in was not smooth. The bar uncle and the customers inside the hotel enthusiastically helped us find a way. Give us a lot of warmth. The windows of this room are very large and can be opened all of them. Extremely quiet and the perfect choice. The breakfast is also very good. This place is three stops from Zermatt and takes about half an hour by car. We will come again.
Baxter Hotel

We absolutely loved our stay. Everything, the friendly welcome, the room, and especially the breakfast were wonderful. The hotel is ideally situated close to the train station, as well as restaurants. The receptionist could not have been any more helpful in answering our many questions. We highly recommend the Baxter Hotel, Thank you to all the wonderful staff who made our stay so enjoyable during challenging times.
