This place needs some serious updating in lighting (it’s all awful fluorescent lights) not conducive for evening enjoyment . It’s also very disturbing to wildlife. The tunnel and stair case for wildlife watering hole viewing has been neglected and is dirty and falling apart and had insects and lizards and again bright fluorescent lights. The most distressing thing about this place however is that all their designated smoking areas are positioned so that the breezes from the valley blow all the smoke right into the lobby and lounge areas and non smokers cannot get away from it anywhere. Furthermore the staff does not even enforce the designated smoking areas and some people smoke wherever they want. One thing the staff did well is keep the food covered so that flies couldn’t get on it.

Our guests really enjoy staying at Voi Safari Lodge with the expansive view of the waterholes and Tsavo East. One morning at breakfast we were able to watch a pride of about 8 lions lounging under the distant trees as the elephants came and went to the water hole. Truly a great place to just sit and watch the wildlife.

I stayed at Voi Safari Lodge, and while the experience was enjoyable, the lodge itself felt a bit dated. The overall atmosphere was pleasant, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The location provided stunning views of the surrounding landscape, which added to the charm of the stay. However, the furnishings and decor appeared quite older, and some areas could benefit from modernization. Despite this, I had a good time exploring the area and enjoyed the amenities offered. If you're looking for a lodge with a great view and friendly service, Voi Safari Lodge is a decent choice, but don't expect the latest in luxury.

It is very hard to understand the ratings on Voi Safari lodge, a 53 room ageing property in Tsavo East heavily used by large group tours from the coast. Voi Safari Lodge was by a very long way the worst accommodation I have experienced in Kenya or Tanzania. Staff were uninterested, the buffet food was dreadful and rooms were as bad as many reviewers have pointed out, dirty, dilapidated and in serious need of serious renovation investment. One to avoid.

We had a great night at the safari lodge. It was a beautiful setting right in the middle of the park. It was pretty special sitting eating dinner/breakfast alongside the waterhole hole where many animals were there grazing. The food was basic but lots of choice at the buffet and then you can order drinks from the bar. All staff were lovely and accommodating but the real star of the show was Henry the hippo! We kept a close eye on him and he comes out of the pool most nights around 7/8ish. There is also a live stream online to the watering hole so our families back home could log on and see where we were which was a nice touch. The pool area was lovely but unfortunately we didn’t have time for a swim. The rooms were comfortable and clean with warm showers. Would highly recommend this hotel. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

great location, great stuff and food. A good start point for your safari. Rooms are very basic but in good condition. Very nice location with a balcony toward the immersive Savana and with the small lake in front you can see some animals. Very clean

Lovely lodge with fantastic views and an elephant viewing area that you must go to...ask the staff where it is if you don't already know. Watering hole in front of the lodge attracting loads of elephants. The rooms all had great views and were clean and comfy with a fan on the wall and mosquito nets over beds. The food was buffet style and to say there were only about 15 people in the hotel it was OK. Pool looked nice. Staff were attentive, helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

Unfortunately cannot say I would recommend staying here. The view was amazing, but the positives basically end there. At first we stayed in room 5 and were kept up until 4:30am by loud guests at the fire pit outside our room. I had asked if the bar could turn their music down at 12:30am which they did but the noisy guests were a nightmare when you are planning to get up at 5:30 for a game drive. The staff didn’t seem to care much when myself and others mentioned the problem. However, they were kind enough to move us to room 20 (furthest away from the noise) but it wasn’t a huge improvement as the walls are so thin, and the doors slam so easily. We were kept up on and off late into the night, every night whenever guests came in and out of their rooms, or whenever the room next to us flushed their toilet (for some reason it made our toilet make a really loud noise). On top of this, both rooms’ beds were rock hard. Truly not comfortable at all. Perhaps if the doors weren’t so loud and the beds were updated, I could consider recommending the lodge.

Okay this lodge has potential, but it does need some work. I loved the dining area and the food was great! The views are absolutely beautiful, and the location is perfect. The biggest challenge was my room. It did not necessarily seem dirty, but it did seem run down. I could also smell perfumes and other body care items very strongly on the bed which made me think that the linens had not been washed. The bathroom needed a lot of work so I skipped showering which was not ideal. But honestly, I didnt care too much; I had a lot of fun nonetheless! The staff was very nice. I had one excellent waitress. The other two male dining waiters were trying far too hard to get a tip to the point that they became very annoying during meals. I think it would be helpful to train the staff to learn that the best way to get a good tip from an American is to move away from them once they have their food. Americans will make eye contact on raise one finger when they want to speak to the waitress. Never get in their space too much or be over the top with the friendliness. Americans expect space during a meal so less is more. If you are too pushy, you are going to get much less of a tip.
