Maistra Select Petalon Resort

Totally brilliant from the time we arrived until the time (very sadly) we had to leave. The room was first class, lovely view from the balcony and very clean (every day). The reception staff were more than helpful as were the staff in the restaurant. The sea was wonderful and the short walk to Vrsar was very enjoyable. The food in the restaurant was excellent; hot and lots of choice both at breakfast and the evening meal. The location was superb. Quiet and very relaxing. We just can't fault it. In fact we enjoyed the whole experience so much we were tempted to phone TUI and say we were going to stay another week!

The holiday started with us being dropped off at the other side of our apartment and since we didn’t know any better we had to drag our suitcases through god knows how many flights of stairs and when we got to the top we realised there was only 2 flights of stairs have we been dropped to the right side, that was so annoying in 35 degree heat, but we moved on. Next the room is lovely and clean, bathroom was nice, amazing water pressure. The air con wasn’t that cold, only was able to turn it down to 20 degrees. They have a really handy app where you can tell them something is wrong and they fix it very quickly. I asked to turn the temperature down l, they did, but it definitely didn’t go to the temperature. I set it to 11 degrees just to see and it was still the same, it wasn’t hot or unbearable, but we would have liked it cooler. We have also requested extra pillows and they were there by the time we got to the room. There are loads of other things you can do on the app so that was super handy. The daily clean of the room could have been better. I got some after sun which was bronze on my duvet and it was still there on day 10 so the beds weren’t changed even once and were left dirty, but it wasn’t a big deal. The sink and toilet wasn’t being cleaned either. Just made the beds, fresh towels and emptied the bins. But that wasn’t a big deal to us. Another thing was the prices - the 2 sun loungers and umbrella on the beach were €24 so I thought that was a lot, it was free at the pool. Drinks were €8.40 for 2 cokes. You could put all your drinks and snacks and pool bar and the restaurant on the room so there was no need to carry money with you. The biggest put off was the huge hill to get to our apartment. We were right at the back and top of the hill, I think that’s where all the double rooms are. This meant endless amount of stairs if we were coming back from the beach or hill coming back from anywhere else. Even put us off going to dinner one night as we were knackered from a hike we took in the day . Service at dinner was slow, some days we would have eaten the entire meal and still nobody came to ask what we wanted to drink, there was no air con in the restaurant so on the really hot days this ****** cos we were thirsty and dripping sweat in our food lol. All the staff were really nice thought and the food was insane, no doubt the best out of all the holidays I have been to when it comes to buffet restaurants. The town was really nice, but not a lot of shops, mostly restaurants and bars. Some fun things for kids like bouncy castle etc. the walk to town wasn’t too bad and there is tourist train although you will pay €3 even for one stop. Would be better if it was hop on hop off but hey ho. We had one day which rained and there isn’t a lot to do for adults. We enjoyed a room with a view of the sea and a lovely balcony. The sound of the sea was delightful and so relaxing. The weather was also perfect and not too hot so we could sunbathe and swim in the pool. There is a lovely promenade which leads to Vrsar, and there are great cafes along the sea. There are so many things to do around the hotel, such as tennis, mini golf and our son particularly liked the adjoining game room. The staff are so kind and helpful, they do everything with a warm smile. I was especially delighted with an omelette that the chef makes in front of you. All in all, a perfect weekend getaway. We are definitely returning there!

I stayed in a resort with a group, it was still begining of the tourist season so it was nice and quiet Location is amazing, I had a room 15 m from the sea, nature was stunning, clean, calming The accomodation was fine, you get pretty nice value for your money Two best things where the food, amazing choice for breakfast and dinner, and hotel staff, so nice, polite, helpful amd friendly I definitely recommend this resort for both, group and family visit

Very nice, and quiet in September. Area is quite hilly and getting our suitcase from reception to our room was quite a struggle. The buffet restaurant is very good though a bit repetitive. The pool area is lovely and clean and the sea is crystal clear though it’s rocky, so swim shoes are required. Easy walk into Vrsar town with a good selection of bars and restaurants.

We booked with Tui if you’ve booked and been looking for reviews go look on *********** as not many get posted on here. We went as a couple the room was good small but fine, clean,partial sea view which was nice, fridge in room the air con was weak comfy beds.There is HILLS our room was at the top of a steep road which i as a 44yr old who doesn’t really exercise much found hard there is also hills walking to town and back it’s not horrendous but we saw elderly pausing to get their breath back and people pushing prams up so just be aware if limited mobility, there is rooms on the bottom so may beable to request one.The outside areas and surroundings are lovely right by the sea about 10 mins to the town/harbour.Lots of boat trips and watersports available. Vrsar is lovely not expensive to eat out you can get a large pizza for 9€ large beer for €4.50. Lots of nice ice cream places only €1.50 bargain.We were half board breakfast and tea were good , coffee machine which was nice and juices included for breakfast, just the hot drinks at tea no water,bar available they come round and ask if you want drinks from the bar soft drinks €4 beer €4.60 large small €3.90. The standard of meat at tea was very good and the desserts were lovely even included hot desserts apple strudels etc which made a change from the usual all inc. No nuggets chips and pizza like usual all incs English kids may struggled mine would have. Most guests are not English.There isn’t really much entertainment, there was a kids thing for a bit outside but all parents had to stand watching ,there isnt like a show bar/area where you can sit etc and watch shows i saw live music once in the week we was there infront of the pizza restaurant its nothing like in spain greece etc where you have a drink and kids run about and watch shows.You either go to the pizza bar for a drink at night or walk to town we went without the kids so it was fine but if i went with my 2 they would have been bored, there is a games room with ps5s in thats it really when kids clubs are not open. As a couple we loved it and loved Croatia i want to come back to see more areas of Croatia definitely. Pool areas good and sea good for swimming inflatable area for kids €10 per hour or €20 for day.Whilst we did the pick ups/drop offs I definitely say this is the best in Vrsar for location, you can walk through the nudist camp which was an experience. All in all I recommend this resort but just don’t expect the typical spain/greece hotel experience that cater for English some will think this is a blessing lol . Croatia is about going out and exploring not staying in the hotel so was perfect for us as a couple
