Vineyard Cottages - Kumeu

Early check in was no problem. Arrived to friendly staff who showed us around. Gorgeous cottage was warm and very inviting. Had lots of space to get ready to attend a wedding 1 minute drive up the road. Very clean and everything you need. Highly recommend.

Super helpful host. My parents and I had a fabulous stay. I love the rustic comfort and the artistic design touches of the country cottages. Great surrounding and close to famous vineyard lunches.

We were riding the north island tour Aotearoa in April 2025. As we were crossing the Kaipara harbour we had to find accommodation close by as the boat was delayed by 3 hours.We reserved one of the amazing cottages at the Vineyard. The owners were the firs ones to establish the Sauvignon Blanc variety in New Zealand. By the time we reached the place it was dark, cold we were exhausted. After an amazing reception with nothing less that the young lady in charge waiting for us in the courtyard , what a delight to enter the cottage. Built in recent years and copying the old style cottage our place was luxurious, warm, well appointed.The light was just enough to create an amazing ambiance. The table was set and a gigantic bowl of soup, a cheese platter, a basket of fresh bread and fruits were there for us who were just starving. Further to get in touch with Ellen and explaining the issue of a late arrival, the fact we were on bikes , the lack of facilities to carry any food, she did it all. And man this was spectacular. The quality of the entire meal was top notch, it was tasty, well prepared and in large quantity. We could not have dreamed of anything better. The accommodation was very cosy, comfortable. We had one of the best night of a 25 days trip through the North Island. The welcoming was exceptional, the service 5 stars. If you get around and close to Ellen's place at the Vineyard cottage, if you want luxurty at a very moderate rate, and a very professional service, please book it. Ellen and her team deserve all accolades.

This was a great venue for our work planning and team building day. Fantastic lunch, relaxing venue and fun wine-related activities and lawn games in the afternoon. Would definitely book it again for another small group event. Thank you for a nice day that everyone enjoyed.

Very cute cottages, lovely people and very accommodating. Great breakfast and lovely bridal platter. Plenty of space in the cottages and a great shower - big plus. Was a lovely location for photos and getting ready before the wedding. Will be back!

Has serious potential. The cottage we had was “Pinot Noir”. I personally loved the rustic decor, however it wouldn’t be for everyone. There is no fan or air con, and no screens on the windows or doors. There is a thick layer of mould around the top of the porcelain kitchen sink. The king bed was two singles pushed together, one bearable the other not. The separate single had soiled sheets. Awoke covered in bites. Breakfast is provided - bread, jam, butter, weetbix etc. the Wi-Fi and internet were terrible, had to climb the hill at the back of the cottage for reception. However, I think I’d still go back. It would be lovely in the cooler months and the restaurant next door is great. The decor is amazing an a welcome break from your everyday motel. All the best
