We absolutely cannot contain our elation when recalling our recent stay at this remarkable hotel. From the moment we stepped into the elevator adorned with personalized name cards, my husband and I were enveloped in the warm embrace of hospitality. The attention to detail and the genuine kindness of the staff made us feel like VIP guests. They also thoughtfully provided a bucket for us to indulge in the glowing enchantment of firecrackers and even tidied the mess up afterwards. But the best memory of our stay here was definitely the culinary experience given by the chef extraordinaire — Master Chef Matsuki. His creations were nothing short of a gastronomic revelation. Each dish was a testament to his unwavering dedication and profound respect for the ingredients. Oh, the flavors — titillating all our taste buds in every bite. And the generosity of Chef Matsuki in sharing his culinary wisdom, guiding us on how to savor each morsel, elevated the entire dining experience to sheer perfection. The language barrier was no obstacle to the remarkable team of staff members who graced us with their presence. Their command of the English language was commendable, and even those who were not entirely fluent went above and beyond to cater to our every whim and need. Their genuine desire to assist us was palpable, leaving us feeling truly valued and cared for. I am already making plans to return with my beloved family, as I know they too deserve to bask in the unparalleled warmth and luxury that this establishment exudes. This hotel has set the bar impossibly high, redefining the meaning of hospitality and creating memories that will be cherished for a lifetime. The hotel has a quiet environment and is suitable for self-driving tours. The rooms are comfortable and clean. When taking a shower, you have to boil the water and wait about 5 minutes for hot water. The hotel staff are very kind and they provide a welcome drink when you check in. The breakfast restaurant is on the fifth floor, the hot spring is on the third floor, there are massage chairs and coffee and tea buffets in the lounge on the second floor, and there is a souvenir shop in the lobby.

Very cost-effective hotel. The room is very clean and tidy, and the hotel's service is also very good. If you arrive early, your luggage can be kept for you. The breakfast variety is rich and delicious for the price. It is very convenient to go to the city center with JR. I will stay here again when I go to Tokushima in the future.

The hotel is walking distance to Wakayama castle. The rooms are clean because it’s a renovated hotel this year. The morning breakfast buffet is amazing. A varieties of food are there. And also many kinds of drinks are there.

Very good experience, great bath, great room, the bedroom still has a lot of space to open the suitcase, recommended!!! There is also free ramen at 9:30pm, which is quite good for supper

The room facilities are very complete, refrigerator, microwave oven, toothbrush, comb, these disposable items are also equipped. The check-in procedure is simple and fast. When you check out, you can insert the room card into the machine. It is very convenient to leave the store and strive for the time of the road. When you check in, you can choose five snacks per room, and each person can choose two drinks from the machine.

Candeo is right on Wakayama-Shi Train station, which makes it incredibly convenient. Sound-proofing ensures perfect sleep and no disturbance from trains or traffic etc. The staff accepted early check-in at 2pm and were incredibly courteous, professional, English-speaking and kind. Really excellent. Some large Japanese hotel chains are not entirely geared to the ”international market” and the attitude to non-Japanese guests can be less than ideal. NOT CANDEO. The staff are comfortable with an international clientele, cheerful and welcoming. How wonderful! The entire hotel is extremely clean and well-run. Everything says ”professional”. The flower arrangements on each floor are REAL. Flowers are extremely expensive in Japan. The view from the reception area (Floor 11) is fantastic. The spa (Floor 12) is open air, with a great view and a magical feel. I enjoyed my stay very much and I hope to return to Candeo soon.

Hotel is conveniently located on top of the train station and is connected to a mall. Love that they have free curry rice as well as a drink for those who stay with them. If you are parking, park at the rooftop and then walk over thru a connector which leads you to the conference/event halls. Thereafter, take the lift down to the lobby. If you don’t do this, you will have to do a bit of a walk around to reach the lobby. Parking is 1000yen per day but you have to have the ticket validated first at the lobby before you head out.

Location is very good and near JR station. Complimentary breakfast is a plus. However, there is no Onsen or public bath. Bathroom is rather small. Overall it’s good value for the money paid :)
