Hotel Waldachtal

Positives: All the waiters were very polite and courteous. The food was quite good. SEE PICTURES FOR EVERYTHING ELSE! There is a huge gap between theory (pictures on the internet) and reality. The bathroom is so tiny that you can't fall over. When using it you had to leave the door open, otherwise you'd be out of breath. A hotel with lots of guest dogs and carpeted floors is an absolute no-go. It's understandable for financial reasons that you can't renovate all the rooms at once. But there are ways, for example offering a significant price reduction for the old and unrenovated rooms. 160 euros per room is pretty steep!!! (Double room for sole occupancy, as there were no single rooms available, including gourmet food). On the last day the water in the shower stopped after a few minutes, just as I was soaping up. This was not reported, however, as the bill had already been paid the night before (including a tip). The conclusion is left to the reader.

4 course meal or buffet, we got ONLY buffet, we/the customer couldn't decide! Wedding anniversary! but the hotel decided. Ate outside as a result, only small, insufficient compensation after complaint. No parking, swimming pool in the building next door (resort?) Only accessible via a path past private apartments.

The room stank of dogs, the carpet was full of dog hair, the beds hadn't been changed and there were still traces of the previous guest, the weeds on the balcony were 10cm high, the supporting pillars were very rusty. The wellness area was unkempt, there was only one shower, everything was very run down. We left 3 hours later than we arrived, that says it all!!! Then we had to pay 80% of the price of the trip, which is absolutely not acceptable, let's have it checked.

My best friend and I wanted to spend a few days at the Hotel Waldachtal and use the wellness facilities on offer to relax, but unfortunately we were hugely disappointed and had to leave early. First of all, I would like to say something about the positive things about the Hotel Waldachtal: The staff were really friendly The breakfast had a decent selection and tasted delicious The rooms were nicely furnished The shuttle service was reliable and the driver was very friendly When you check in, you get a bus and train ticket for the surrounding area The free wellness bag at reception is really practical Now we come to the unfortunately predominantly negative points about the hotel: The rooms were ice cold and the heating was off. You could hear your room neighbors or other guests in the hallway at any time, and you could also hear other people's activities in the adjoining bathroom. The cleanliness was poor (toothpaste on the water slide, towel heater was so dusty that clothes and towels were dirty after hanging up (most surfaces in the rooms were dusty) and the pillow was moldy. The food was inedible, it was also just cold and the menus included dishes that were not served with the meal. The times at which you could make reservations in the restaurants were sometimes impossible due to a lack of choice or clashing with existing treatment appointments (either 6:10 p.m. or 8:00 p.m.). The hotel staff simply did not pass on reservations for the restaurant, which led to rude behavior towards us from the restaurant staff. Very cold water in the bathing areas. Too few lockers and loungers in the bathing areas. Several tiles were missing from the pool and created a possible risk of injury. On the balcony, plaster was missing in the area above the seating and it looked as if there was a danger of something falling down again at any time. Lack of information at check-in (Where is what?, What do you have to bear in mind for the treatments?, When is the afternoon snack?). Lack of space in the fitness room (not enough space between the machines, no personal space). Visual "defects": poor painting work/tape from previous painting work was still hanging on the door frames, carpet badly laid, etc. Parking situation very difficult (few options for parking your car, not always completely safe either). Massage was more like a caress. And to top it all off: we had to pay the full price for the entire vacation, even though we had left early and had foregone one night's accommodation, one dinner, two breakfasts and two beauty treatments due to the unacceptable circumstances for us.

We were looking for relaxation, peace and enjoyment over a long weekend. Unfortunately, the hotel and the restaurants did not live up to these expectations. We will not book there again. The "superior" room was not particularly spacious. The bed was narrow and too soft. There was a long brown pile carpet, two small TVs. There was green plastic "grass" on the balcony. The bathroom was very narrow, the towels on the sink touched the toilet bowl. The sink was very small. There were no shelves in the bathroom. The buffet dinner did not match the advertised term "indulgent cuisine". There was a very hectic atmosphere, some dishes had been sitting for a while, other bowls were empty. The menu dinner at the Spanish restaurant is organized in two "shifts" at breakfast in the morning: for 6 or 8 p.m. Individual selection was not possible, there were 3 options (vegetarian, meat, fish) to choose from. In the salad display case, there was no difference in the small selection on two days.
