Bit of a mixed experience at this hotel. We arrived, parking was easy, used the self check-in so got the key card and found the room easily. Room was clean as you would expect. Dinner was a disaster! There were two staff working and only two tables eating in (us a table of 3 and the other group were only 2 people). Drinks took ages, and the food didn’t arrive in one go. The kids pizza was dry. The lady taking the order didn’t start writing things down until we had all ordered so kept getting it wrong. After dinner I asked to order puddings and she just walked away saying that she would tell the chef. I pointed out that she hadn’t actually asked what we wanted. Overall a poor experience considering how empty it was, the service was far from good. Went to bed and the sleep was ok, but every time someone moved around in the room above us it was loud so it was fairly restless. Couldn’t hear the road or the McDonald’s behind our room though which was good. Breakfast was fine, all help yourself. The hot food could have been hotter, as had obviously been set there a bit but it was fine. The shower was awful. Water came out of the sides of the shower head rather than the actual holes. Reported it to reception when we left so hopefully that will be fixed. I think if we had gone out for dinner, our stay wouldn’t have been so tainted, but after the drive, I just wanted to chill. Overall not the standard I have come to expect from premier inn. Fantastic location for Warner Bros tour for Harry Potter film though.
